I think we can discute here new card spoilered for this cycle. Most of all brotherhood ones.

what to say... i'm in love :-) Enemy of this type of deck will be of course the burn ones and venomus blade. I hope there will be something like "After a brotherhood char would die put him in discard pile instead of dead one".

Anyway at the moment i'd have fear of condition attachment on beric. That's why I think this deck "at the moment" can run very well with martell most of all thx to maester of lemonwood (anti condition attach) and Flea Bottom Scavanger (draw 3 if you have no power on house card)-

Although it will probably not help a Martell deck, there is also the non-unique Robert's Loyalists for House Baratheon's Brotherhood.

I hope there is a location that helps out the Brotherhood. Like a hideout/shelter/Sherwood Forest that they can take a reprieve from battle (something along the lines of Gualdo's discard pile instead of dead pile idea).

In my opinion I hope also other brotherhood cards that "combo" with neutral house card. Cause at the moment I "feel it" useless.

The weak of these char is their Str. I think (hope :-)) that the designer work will give us cards to override this situation (Venomus and burn are very hard to face for these char).

So, Venomus blade first of all. In a Martell Deck with maester and with Seven Strings learned you can face venomus with the raven Event. And "defend" the venomus with myr saving. This combo should be nice... thinking also about targa event and martell ones and sevenstrings cancel event.

I'm looking for lot of distinct mastery in this deck :-) and maybe summer and open market to recycle them... should work... let's wait... for now i'm only "thinking about possibilities" :-)

...another thing... next core set baratheon... how good would be this plot reprinted??? :-)

Really, really want that Plot back. Although - bear in mind: it was errat'd to "Baratheon characters only" so it won't help your brotherhood theme too much.

Is Lars MWNK finally a threat??

I was not a ccg player so didn't know that :-) but I think there will be one similar plot for brotherhood since it is in their thematic... I thought also that Nightmares in pre plot should be danger for Beric and Valar ready... but as for many others important char we will play beric with a dupe near him :-)

MWNK is a danger for this kind of deck, but it's just something you have to play around.

Use Tom to cancel the reinforcements event. Or just kill it somehow. lol

Actually, canceling the event doesn't keep Men With No King from responding to it having been initially played.

This just goes to show that there is (so far) quite a few weaknesses for this deck.

Currently, I imagine everyone will run the new Mel, but if this deck starting popping up everywhere, I could see people switching back.

MWNK seems like a more annoying card now that it has been clarified for me. Nightmares and valar is pretty annoying. I guess you would just have to play lots of saves or something.

Here's a thought/question: how are you supposed to pay for these characters? At first glance, it seems like they are designed to be run with the Neutral House and the new Agenda. But how do you generate income? Maybe there will be Brotherhood reducers? Neutral gold locations seem unlikely, but I guess its possible...

stick them in a house. there is no reason i see why they would need the neutral house. the bara army and dayne don't look like i'd want to make sure they were in every brotherhood deck.

re mel: while i like the new mel i'd still run the cs mel in just about every bara deck i build

You do have Crossroads and the Streets available as reducers.... Kingdom of Shadows as well if you need to go that way.

Kingdom of Shdaows and Bay of Ice are Out of House for Neutral House.

So at this point, all I've really gained from this thread, is that they are going to (so far given the current spoilers), be kinda easy to deal with. They have the same problem I have with many other "cool" characters, not enough strength.

So far I see them running best out of a house for sure.

Well, kinda easy is a pretty relative term there. I mean, using the agenda, it looks like there are about two ways to deal with Beric. Nightmares/Valar (or military claim if he's the only thing left on the board) or Milk of the Poppy/Valar/claim. EIther of those can be mitigated pretty easily with a save or two and pretty normal levels of claim soak. Milk can cause problems for longer, but it's still just a couple solutions to a guy that is largely immune to a great deal of control. By not enough strength were you meaning that he should literally have a higher strength stat?

I don't necessarily mean Beric. They are all mostly 2 strength characters that all die to everything you said, plus venomous blade, and Ilyn payne.

Thoros is pretty nice, I'm just concerned that burn or strength control would just beat them straight out.

Maybe, though Thoros will negate Venomous Blades and Tom will go a long way towards negating event based burn. Come to think of it, he's also the easy answer to a pre-plot Nightmares.

I'm very excited and anxious for them. I can't wait to build a deck around Brotherhood characters. It probably won't be a neutral house, but I'm still excited for the idea. Winning with no power on your house? That sounds awesome. (considering we don't have any alternate win conditions).

Thoros counter venomus but since usually venomus can be use multiple times during a single round I see difficult to keep it quiet :-) Distinct mastery can help a lot... I see the only way to manage venomus the use of the event anti attach. So another reason to run brothers with martell house card.

Well they announced Hollow Hill and The Mad Huntsman for Brotherhood cards. I'm anxious to see them.
