Hero Treasure

By joefling34, in Battlelore

If your using the Hero expansion on an adventure other than in the Hero rule book, how do you get treasures? Is it something with the hidden treasure that you can search for? I'm just not understanding the whole concept... please help!

Thanks!

Warning: I haven't played a single game using Heroes yet...

If using an adventure that was not made with Heroes in mind, the players could agree to locate treasure on a particular hex or multiple hexes of the board. Using treasure in a game is not necessary to use Heroes, just another facet of Heroes used to progress the characters along. When entering a hex that contains treasure, a Hero must stop on that hex, if no enemy unit is adjacent the Hero may choose to "search" the hex for treasure (if an enemy unit is adjacent, the Hero could chose to battle with that unit, or forego any further actions). What exactly the treasure consists of is unknown until the searching action occurs. It could either lead to gaining experience tokens, artifact cards, or treasure tokens, or be a trap and lead to taking a casualty check.

At the moment the hidden treasures are really only officially used in the scenarios from the Heroes rules book.

However, Treasures, Experience and Artifacts are still a big part of the game, as the number of 'draws' from the artifact deck a hero gets is determined during the 'After Action Steps' the take place after the scenario is won or lost. Usually each surviving Hero will gain at least one draw - and therefore one item. Surviving Heroes will also get a set amount of Treasure tokens (not hidden treasures though), and Experience.

Hope that helps!

Cheers,

Giles.
