Both Tannhauser and Chaos of the Old World are next in my line of purchase. I really like the looks of Tannhauser, but want to get a game that will be playable a long time. Any suggestions between the two?
thanks

I owe both, and i must admit after playing about 5-6 games of Tannhauser and about 4-5 games of Chaos, i would rather play Tannhauser again.
Chaos in the old world is a fun game, but even after trying every side once, it just kind of started to feel the same- you know exactly what each side needs to do to win and that makes the game quite predictable and replayability value just drops with each new play. Fact that the board is rather small, and the game is rather short and ends after a predetermined number of turns doesnt really help.
Tannhauser on the other hands has the benefit of different boards- different scenarios, different team setups, different gear packs and with the x-pac even different factions. And i am really bummered that i dont get to play more of it as it is really a 2 player (possibly a 4 player) game- and my gaming crowd is usually 3, or 5 people ( we tried it once with 8 but it didnt really work as those that got eliminated fast had to sit out looking at their thumbs for the rest of the game).
So if you want diverse replayability i would go Tannhauser over CitOW any day of the week
thanks, sorry to be so long in responding. Tannhauser is on my xmas list.
