Is it currently feasable to make a decent solo DE deck? And if so, what kind of focus/approach is best for them?
Solo Dark Elves feasable?
It depends what you mean by "decent". Do you mean "has a chance of winning a tournament" or "won't be horribly embarrassing when I play with friends"?
That by the way should answer your question.
Every faction can make a fun loyalty deck, but winning against a tuned deck... well DElf can't do it right now, they need Skaven to provide teeth. This looks to be changing but I don't think it is there yet. DElf/Undead looks like you may be able to get something going to win more consistently and the Enemy Cycle looks interesting... My recommendation is start building and tweaking now. As the new stuff comes out keep re-evaluating your efforts. When you have something you are proud of and confident in post it. see if the gang here can provide some more tweaks.
Yeah well my brother plays Dwarves while I usually play Chaos and hope to end up making a decent DE deck. For the moment I only have all packs 1x bar the Core set. So a few very good ones I only have 1x for the DE. And they do seem to lack punch.
The discard/deck modification effects are nice but not enough. And the direct damage is still lacking synergy. So best bet for me is mixing Chaos and DE?
I run a solo DE deck that focuses on keeping cards out of my opponents hand (not milling, just limiting their options) and killing their units via hp reduction. And, should the opportunity arise, I borrow their battlefield
3x Walking Sacrifice
3x Shades
3x Vanguard of Woe
3x Vile Sorceress
3x Corsairs of Ghrond
3x Mortella
3x Naggaroth Spearmen
3x Hellbane's Raiders
3x Lokhir Fellheart
3x Lash the Prisoner!
3x We Need Your Blood
3x Your Will is Mine
3x Caught the Scent
3x Contested Village
3x Bottomless Mine
3x Contested Fortress
3x Treasure Vaults
3x Altar of Khaine
Also, for the record, I only have one set of everything (as does my main opponent, my roommate) so we just just use copies of cards to round out our sets of triples

I have a single set of every card and I try to maintain 6 solo-faction decks (+1 skaven/orc). I'm having the same problem with DE right now. Its just horrible compared to the other races (and most of those decks aren't even as good as they could be). I'm currently trying a discard strategy, but it doesn't seem all that great. For some reason they seemed to give Chaos and DE a lot of the same flavor. They both have many sacrifice effects, many corruption-based effects.
I think the only hope to make DE decent is to siphon off some Chaos cards. One "combo" that would be possible is the 2 tactics that increase a creatures power until end of turn, but then at the end of turn you deal 2 damage to it, and sacrifice it, respectively. Coupled with the DE tactic to double a creatures power, you could easily make a 10 power creature that is killed by 3 different effects at the end of your turn. The penalties overlap, but you still get all the bonuses.
Do you have an example of a DE/Chaos deck that would work well together? Perhaps focussing on corruption or mixing the sniping with some Chaos brute power?
certainly dark elves aren't the powerhouse faction of the game ,they prefer using tricks like chaos and I don't think a tournament DE solo deck will be feasible for quite awhile
