New Storage Set

By Veet, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

I just had to share this, I ran across these in the store by accident today and immediately though they might make good Arkham Storage shells so I measured them and found a set of tackle boxed that fit inside and viola even enough room left over for the final expansion I don't yet have and a possible future expansion or two.

Cool.

Has anybody found decent storage containers for AH cards that have been sleeved in the FFG card sleeves? I sleeved my cards, which is nice for the cards, but now they don't fit in the plastic trays in the AH box. Some alternate method of storage would be nice.

Nice! A friend of mine picked up a similar plastic storage box for me a month or two ago, for Arkham horror counters, but we haven't moved them in yet.

At Toys R Us and Kmart they had a box for football and baseball cards that was deep enough to stand the cards up and enough spaces to separate a bunch of the decks. It was about $10 and holds all of cards for all of the expansions (save the AO and Investigator cards).

Oooo... Pretty fake books... Of course... Real books with bindings like that would be waaaaay out of my budget. Sigh...

Yeah, I'd like to find a set of decals that would blend well so I could give them titles.

Nice find, look quite cool.

Those ARE cool! Where did you get those? Is there any possibility of me buying those somewhere or ordering them online?

I was able to buy a tray at Hobby Lobby that fits all of the initial cards for the game. I also purchased a second tray for all of the smaller pieces. The larger tray holds all of the cards and they've been sleeved.

I'm actually in the process of sleeving all of them now. didn't realize what a pain in the ass it would be. I can't seem to find enough of the smaller sleeves. I've only purchased 3 of the small box expansions at this point and it's already cost quite a bit.

I just wish once they were all sleeved they'd still lay flat on top of each other but they seem to lean one direction.

If you look at Walmart where they keep the Magic cards etc, (usually all up by the check out registers because of theft) there will be some boxes similar to yours but with only 5 spaces that is big enough for Mythos, Gates cards. They cost about 5 bucks. I got a couple of them for my Warhammer Invasion cards but then I started buying the Untra Pro binders and the 9 card sheets to put them all in. (Walmart: binder and 100 sheets $19.00).

Since I just got my expansions I am still keeping things separated with good ol' plastic sandrich bags, some small and some big. Also the plastic bag that the Untra Pro card covers come in and a good size for a lot of the tokens. I also bought some small 1/2 cup containers that I put all tokens in when I am playing. The containers keep the tokens from going all over and it is easy to pour them back into the plastic bags.

Your set up however is much neater. You might find decals at a Model Train Hobby shop.

th.91c797bca6.jpg">For a total of $24 This is almost everything. It doesn't hold the AO cards, the Investigator Cards or the Herald cards. This holds everything from the base game, CotDP, Lurker and Black Goat.

(Ive tried a few things...can't get the picture to post....hmmm)

I found them at Pier 1. Funny thing is I was only there because my wife was next door looking at shoes.

I had to make mine, but here they are:

Mythos/Gate

Encounters

Items

The best part is I just stick them in the closet as-is and pull them out for a game. Helps with set up time. Admittedly, not good for transporting though. I have plans to make a wooden case to store everything and plan to include space for my holders, so they can be transported.

Those are awesome, I want to make a set just for set up and game play.

Very nice. What material did you use? Is that some sort of plastic, or is it a type of particle board?

No, just black foam board (foamcore). A single 20"x30" sheet ($5) was enough for all of it.
