Help :-)

By arcanjl1, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

1) if an attacking character is killed (ICE) during the challenge - does the challenge end?

2) If the above character is saved - is he still fighting - or removed?

3) If an attacking character is lowered to 0, and the defending character's strength is lowered to 0 - who is the winner? no one?

Thanks!

The general answer is "it depends." If the only attacking character is killed AND there are no other participating characters, the challenge does end.

But if the attacking character in question is killed with Ice, that will never be the case because the character Ice is attached to must be participating in the challenge in order for Ice to kill anyone. So the challenge continues - even if there are only participating characters on the defending side. It's a nice way for the defender to win the challenge, get some power for Renown, and trigger some "after you win a challenge" Responses.

In short, the challenge only ends if there are no participating characters at all.

Why would he be removed? If he was saved, he was never actually killed and thus never left play. There would be no change. So the character is still participating in the challenge.

If neither the attacker nor the defender can meet the requirements to win a challenge (at least one participating character AND a total STR greater than 1), then no one wins the challenge. No one loses it, either.

I realized the saved issue after... :-)

Thanks for the quick response - I love this game!

Greater than 0 of course.

Sorry. I keep doing that. I keep trying to say "greater than 0" and "at least 1" at the same time, and it comes out as garbage.
