I asked Kevin about the Gate Box card at Gencon as it doesn't say anything about whether or not the owner gets an explored marker when he comes back from another world using the device. He stated that using the Gate Box to come out of any open gate counts as exploring the other world area even though he may have started in a different area. This should be put on the card. After the part about coming back to any open gate, should add, "the investigator gets an explored marker"

Fairly simple and avoids any confusion.

So, what rumours of AH at Gencon?

Many people may have played it the way it's intended, but it still should be put on the card at sometime in the future. If you just go by what is written in the rules (you must exit the same type of OW gate that you entered to get an explored marker), the gate box seemed to be just a marginally useful item that would prevent you from getting LiTaS if there were no open gates to your dimension. To be able to exit any gate from any dimension and be able to close and seal it makes it quite pawerful. But again it should be in the text on the card so there is no second guessing about that.

As I said, just briefly asked Kevin (as he finished a game and was leaving) about the card, didn't have an in dept conversation with him, so no extra info on AH.

The label of the price on the Box is a bit of a giveaway. I often find in ambiguous cases with Items, the cost is a giveaway as to how it should be used. Spells, of course, lack this small degree of clarity.
