Turn v's Round

By mrmer1in, in Battles of Westeros

Any clarification on the use of the term "Turn" would be great.

Sometimes it's "round" meaning the whole phase. But, sometimes there are Modifiers where it's applied for a Turn, but we take that to mean the whole Phase or Round so that it is included for multiple attacks where the unit Attacks, is then Rallied, and orderd to attack again. Correct?

A turn comprises only the ordering of units via a leadership card, or the use of an order token. Th player's alternate taking turns back and forth until the roun ends. I can understand that it may cause confusion since in most other games, a "turn" is comparable to a "round" in this game. Still, I think the two terms are quite well defined in the BoW rules. Do you have any specific example of where you run into problems?

Example: Kevan Lannister 5 of 5 (leadership/command card)

Before or After Command

If you have a (certain tokens) in your Order Pool, then your opponent may not resolve a tactic during his next turn.

I find it hard to believe that I can only block a tactic for a single Order turn, and not the entire next Round of order turns.

sheeeesh, I just worked it out i think :-/ .... it says "before or after", that means it's just this Round, but any turn following my command. If I'm right, what is this "before" stuff about?

Hopefully someone knows. Thanks for the assistance : )

cheers

I'm sure it literally means only your opponent's next turn. Before or after refers to the timing of the tactics. Before command means that the tactics trigger before you resolve the command(s) of that leadership card. After means that the tactics trigger after the command(s) are resolved. Before or after means that you have a choice, as long as the prerequisites of the tactics are met. Hope that was helpful to you.

Hey, if you are right, then that would mean I would have to time it perfectly in order for my tactic to become effective against opponent.

My opponent could just avoid that very easily by just waiting one more turn to use a card with tactic at the bottom.

oh well, i'll just follow your suggestion and stick to literary "next turn", safer that way.

Thanks

I agree that it does not seem to be the most powerful of tactics in the game gui%C3%B1o.gif
