i don't have into the storm it didn't came yet in france so sorry if mentioned in it.

i was wondering what would look like a template creature like a void kraken. the creatures builders is not helping there and i don't want it to have a tyranid creature.

if someone have read 20.000l eagues under the sea he has a good idea of what i mean.

any idea?

To clarify, are you looking for something for the explorers to engage in ship scale combat? Or personal scale?

from france

both larvae for personal scale and adult for ship scale. but nothing tyranid

Okay. I'm going to throw together an idea for starship scale combat. I'll have it up in a few minutes.

This is pretty rough, but its a start.

VOID KRAKEN

Legends abound of gargantuan creatures hiding on the edges of system space, ready to attack vessels just as they emerge from the warp. The Void Kraken prowls star systems, seeking out ships to rip open with tentacles kilometers long. Tales of such creatures are widely dismissed as spacer myths and superstition. In large part, perhaps, because so few have ever seen one and lived to tell the tale.

Speed: 6

Detection: 50

Manouvrability: 80

Strength: 99

Armour: 15, Prow 0

Wounds: 100

Morale: 100

Turret (Tentacle) Rating 1

(These are static numbers, as the Kraken has no other attributes to add to its tests. Wounds takes the place of both Hull Integrity and Crew Population, and effects doing damage to either should subtract from it. Strength should be used in place of the command skill for hit and run actions or boarding actions. In combat, the Void Kraken will attempt to close with a ship and initiate a boarding action, which represents an attempt to use its tentacles to tear the ship apart.)

Other Traits:

Void Camoflauge: Because of the Kraken's organic nature, and its insulated hide, it is difficult for ships to detect it using conventional instruments. Detection tests against the Void Kraken suffer a -30 penalty.

Electromagnetic Ink: If the Kraken feels its life is threatened, it will attempt to flee a battle, releasing an electromagnetic discharge to deter any ship attempting to pursue it. The ink covers an area of three void units, and any ship passing through the ink will suffer 1d5 on the critical chart.

Two more:

Organic:
This enemy is an monolithic creature, rather than a ship. It has no components, and cannot suffer critical damage. Actions that target specific components may not be used on this creature, and any critical damage it would suffer is applied simultaneously to its wounds and morale.

Ink Jet: Special Manouvre
For one round, the Kraken may move at double its speed in a straight line, and may not turn. When it ides so, it leaves electromagnetic ink in every void unit it passes through that dissipates two rounds later. After using this manouvre, the Kraken may not use it again for 1d10 rounds.

very good job. i am impress sincerely. i will just add a beack attack and vulnerability to the eyes? what do you think about it?

and for the larvae form? how does he reproduce?

I would base the beak attack on a ramming action, I think. For a vulnerability, the eyes are a decent idea. I put no armor on the prow to represent the exposed area inside the tentacles, but I think it could represent the eyes, too.

As for reproduction, I think it would make sense for the Kraken to lay eggs in the ship as it attacks, if you want to do larvae fights. It could lay something like one egg per point of hull integrity damage, which then, if not found and destroyed, hatch 1 week to 1 month later.

I would have the Kraken vomit its "larvae" into the hull when it has breached it. Make them fast and agile, able to crawl up walls and as big as a murder servitor. I know you do not want to use a tyranid, but the stats for a lictor would not be too bad if you scale them down.

Also, do not forget, the Krakens teeth are worth a profit, but they are probably not teeth and are more like the stickers on the tentacles, which would be left buried in the outer skin of the hull. If your ship destroys the kraken, give them +2 profit from the teeth and whatever goodies might be in the gullet of the beast.

thank to all i can put a monster in the place of a unknown right and corner image of the expanse.

Note that Void Kraken are 'Nids. The were a 'Nid unit in BFG.

from france

as i said it s a reference to jules vernes and this one is not a nids.

http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Bio-ships

Whilst Yes, kraken have been noted by magos biologis as part of the 'nid genetic template they needed to get the organic and genetic data from somewhere initially, thats hoqw the nids work, evolution via genetic manipulation, so they'd Need a Kraken first to eat, get the organic DNA residue and then they could evolve the ships from that simply enough.

But all they'd need is one part of a corpse floating in space, digest it and work from there...

again this one is in reference to jules vernes not to the nids. but if you one to use nids use nids.
