Especially when Into the Storm is out, and these two books were meant to come out at the same time.
Also, the Deathwatch symbol in our 'what games we play' profiles has been broken for a couple of weeks now. I smell a conspiracy theory. There is no Deathwatch. The previews are fake and everyone who says they has a copy is lying.
When will the boat turn into a truck?
Once the boat does turn into a truck it is supposed to mean 7-10 days before it gets to the local gaming stores. So everyday you check and see that it is still a ship I figure it means a minimum of 10 more days before I can get my copy. Using that logic it means that as of today, 9/7/10, the soonest I expect to be able to get a copy would be September 17th. Sadly I fear it will be later than that though. If I haven't gotten a copy of it by the 13th I have to slide our group's gaming schedule to the next meeting, which means two more weeks.
I´m confused about these delays ,I give you one example: Death Angel the new card game ( on boot like Deathwatch) is not available in FFG site , however in Spain you can buy the same game translated to spanish. Could anyone give me one reason for these delays?
Somehow i just have a feeling the rulebook release was postponed in order to be simultaneous with the collectors edition. Is just a conspiracy theory of course, but nontheless, as long as FFG does not talk to us, and makes no statement whatsoever, one can only blame them for bad customers relations in that particular case.
I'm guessing that there's just a problem with the transatlantic shipments. As I've heard and seen on the forum, the European Amazon dates have stayed fixed eventhough they postponed the GM kit by a few weeks but the core book stays right on track. Amazon US on the other hand did postpone the book. So my best guess is; pirates or icebergs... and the boat will never arrive in the US, never! :-O
Or the ship got delayed by any number of more realistic reasons... administrative port delays, course detours due to heavy storms, Greenpeace blockades or again, pirates!

Those that bought a CE got an email that it is supposed to ship 8-10 weeks after the release of the regular book.
My reply from Amazon regarding my pre-order
As per the recent update from our suppliers, we expect to receive the stock to dispatch the orders on September 09, 2010. However, we still have not received the stock from the suppliers.
I can see that the release date have now been moved to September 20, 2010. In this case, I am unable to determine whether we will receive the stock on time to dispatch your order tomorrow or not.
However, if we were unable to dispatch your order by tomorrow as promised, we will notify you via email and we will provide an revised Estimated delivery date.
so not massively clear, I guess tomorrow will tell
Some people are as much use as a fa^t in a space suite.
they dont put any information out there for us and the people we get the books from. So much for Aug 2010 release date.

Well the book certainly exists, as I've looked through it at the event center (owned by an FFG staff there). It is also supposedly sitting in the warehouse. It is unknown exactly what the delay is getting it out. Your guess is as good as mine.

Welcome to the front lines, Battle-Brother!Deathwatch is a roleplaying game in which you take on the role of a member of the Adeptus Astartes - the devout, bio-engineered super-soldiers also known as Space Marines. After many years of exemplary service within your own chapter, you have been singled out and selected to join one of the most unique and specialized collectives of Space Marines - the Deathwatch.
Only the most exceptional candidates from the fighting forces of the Adeptus Astartes are invited to join the mysterious Deathwatch; to take on a new oath to safeguard the Imperium from the darkest of threats. You will now be called into service to hunt down and destroy hostile xenos forces, to seek out and crush the root of heresy and sedition, and to continually fight against the foul daemon menace that crawls forth hungrily from beyond the Warp. You are at the fore of Mankind's war for survival against an extremely hostile universe.
For centuries, the Deathwatch have maintained their silent vigil over the ancient ruins of the Reach, but now you find yourselves on the front lines of a grand Imperial Crusade that has been launched to reclaim this vast region of space from darkness and heresy.
The fate of billions rests in your hands!

Brother, while I share you great enthusiasm for this momentous event you should remember that the holy bolt round should not be expended except in the bodies of vile xenos and other unclean beasts! Now report to your Chaplain for "purification"!!

As I've said before, the "August 2010" release date was only in relation to Gencon, which was in August, and it was available there. Otherwise, the release date has always been "Summer 2010", and it is Summer 2010 until the 23rd September, which makes the release date still accurate, at least in the US (which, given that's where FFG are, means that'll be the seasonal system they use).
Plus, as said, it's now been changed to "Truck", so it should be in your hands soon.

Praise the Emperor! Our days of glory approach fast brothers! Steel yourselves for the Xenos threat!

Even so, sometimes it sounds like they do.
Crimson Fists:
Chaplain: "There is only the Emperor!"

It's not really as clear-cut or absolute as that. Individual marines are likely to have grown up, before initiation, in cultures that revere the Emperor as a god, which may lead to lingering beliefs. Different chapters maintain different beliefs, with each Chapter's cult being distinct from the others.
My local dealer told me that the official release date is 14.09.2010.
How long to ship the books to the UK shops?
