New player questions.

By megakilroy, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Just purchased the Core Set to get into the game. Some friends and I have played a little bit and had some questions. First, aside from the FAQ, there isn't a compilation of a bunch of new player questions anywhere is there? Or is there a way to easily search for keywords in just the Rules Forum? I hate filling up rules forums with trifling questions such as I'm sure to have. As for my actual questions...

Playing the Stark Deck in a duel with my friend, I had Arya Stark with Nymeria attached to her. Anytime I would lose a Military Challenge as a defender, I would just choose to kill Arya, and then Kneel Nymeria to save her. Am I missing something, or as long as my opponent can't get rid of the Nymeria Attachment, I wouldn't have to ever kill any of my characters after losing Claim 1 Military Challenges?

I also had a power challenge of Claim 2 that I attacked with Eddard Stark and Ghost. My opponent only had 1 character in play with the Power icon, so I used Ghost's Stealth to prevent him from defending, and I won the challenge undefended. So I took 2 power tokens from my opponents house and placed it on my own (for winning the Power Challenge of Claim 2), placed 1 power token from the pool onto my house (for undefended victory), placed 1 power token from the pool on Eddard Stark (for Renown), and placed 1 power token on Jon Snow (whom I also had in play), resulting in +5 power for that challenge. Did I do that all correctly? My opponent was just a little annoyed that I completed 1/3 of my Power total in a single challenge.

You don't miss anything with Nymeria.

Ghost couldn't participate in power challenge since he doesn't have power icon, so you couldn't use stealth. Except that, all correct.

Remember that Core Set decks just introduce to game. After you and opponent begin to build own decks, the game will be different (i.e. better).
