Best Deck Ever!

Just some things I'm interested in.

Wouldn't cards like Performance Artist (to stop the birds), Patsy (to remove tokens), Hard Case (to exhaust back), Panic (mass exhaustion), Get on Yer Feet! (surprise surprise) and the like slow this type of deck enough to bring it into mid-game, where it wouldn't shine so much?

That's just theorycrafting here, but still...

You could add DOA, sacrificial offerings (to destroy or wound cards cost 1), Richard III, tear gas, Steahtly Zoog, Bound and Gagged, misinformation to remove tokens. Titled collector, Damped light to add cost for the Endless Interrogation for example. Silver key works well also with the 70's steps.

The bifaction Cthulhu/syndicat works well, you have cards to wound/destroy, cards which can have effect even exhausted (ex: clover torch singer), cards to destroy/steal locations. But with a such deck, you play a lot of card each turn to block the opponent rush, so you need to draw again and again (Want Ads and the Yuggoth Contract could help you).

The real problem is the Endless interrogation, there are not enough cards to deal with or you must play an Hastur Cancel/Disrupt deck (and so have tournaments with always the same decks and the winner is the guy who begins the round, funny isn't it ?). Titled collector can work also.

Didn't notice it was already included in the post above :)

I agree with Yog lovers here, I have become a fan of Yog over the past few months because it does effectively slow Hastur/ Agency. The cool thing about the faction is its flexibility. Yeah Yog is flexible in fact probably the most flexible faction in the game, at least IMO. I have won pretty often against Hastur/Agency by stalling, shooting for success tokens when I could, while slowly grinding my opponent. The thing that no one seems to realize is just how easy it is in CoC. It's ridiculous!! There are 50 cards in a deck after your opponent takes his/her first turn that's down to 40!! demonio.gif You have the Hermit, Blackmoor, and the Gate. Those cards in and of itself can win you the game. I think out of the 3 games I won out of 5 I won 2 by grinding and 1 with actual stories. i can have a decklist for you guys tonight but I have to write a paper and I'm procrastinating, but check out Yog for real. cool.gif

Speaking of Yog fans, one guy at the polish forums came up with a pretty sick idea:

1. Play Journey to the Other Side in order to set up the top of your deck.

2. Play Things in the Ground to put your Cthuga and Tcho-Tcho Tribe , Forgotten Shoggoth or any other blockers you might have into play insane.

3. Play Dr. Carson's Treatment on them.

4. Watch Birds+Steps deck player cry as all his hope is now lost.

oooh....nice concept, Manitou. I haven't played a single game with a Miska deck yet....stupid nerds...so I'm not 100% up on all their tricks...but I have seen Carson's Treatment used against me before, and it's quite potent in those situations.

* on a related note - I really like the look and feel of Tcho-Tcho Tribe...and have gotten 3-of them now....but are they actually considered a "pretty good card" - to have in a Yog deck ? I see the one weakness (potentially) is they have no Toughness..which seems odd to me considering they are supposed to be a "tribe" of guys...meaning several...yet they are not as "tough" as the football coach for Miskatonic U.... ?

So...without Toughness...you pay 5...put out this great card (in theory) and the opponent Small Price to Pay's - it instantly....urrr....am I missing something ?

@Manitou :

Well, Miska/Yog has been exactly the conceptI used with my last tournament deck. I added 2 Dr Casron Treatment + Dr Carson Himself.

The basis was Rush with Miska + Blockers with Yog-Sototh.

The problem is the card draw : If you don't have enough luck (and have something like 3 events on the top of the deck), even JttOS don't help you a lot ! I tend to change them with Speak to the Dead + Gathering at the stone, in a manneer I would have kept my cycling machine on, but it was to depending on the first hands I got to let the idea beside me.

And I now have reserves concerning the almighty Thing inthe Grounds : If you don't have a restoration mecanism, it totally blows the coming of the blockers, as only one of them will join yyour board each turn, which is not valuable if you consider this card as a way to put into play OA without paying the cost.

And remember there is something called "Sirens of hell", which blew up even an AO for nothing ... So I quit this idea and now tend to work on something more offensive.

For the miska/yog decks with thing on the ground, you could have some decklists in this cenacle post cenacle-hd.bb-fr.com/proposez-vos-decks-f44/concept-du-deck-give-war-a-chance-t1722.htm

Decklist in english but commentaries in french.

Such deck are note optimize since the card Museum Curator was not out and the Museum curator is good to put into play support cards like the Things. It's not competitive decks, buts it's funny to try them.

It's extremely hard to find a similarly effective offensive faction combo and unfortunately almost all the good counters against Agency / Hastur are cards from the Agency / Hastur factions. It's quite frustrating.

There's only one caveat: I don't own three copies of every card, so there are several deck ideas I could not test.

TO be true, I tryed to use some Yog-Sototh effects with the Syndicat's rush ... It did'nt fit that well. I had a nice synd/Shubb made months before (based on commitment/Y'go/rush) and it was funny but had a lot of problem to be played ... as ressources were a major problem.

Resources can be a major problem. It's a pity that only miska and agency got their transient resources...

you have a neutral transient (Eibon) and you can put the miska or Agency transient in all decks just to play it as a '2 neutral' resource (and you can always pay 1 to return them in your hand and play again and again them as resources).

Really ? What is the Miska Transient card, and isn't Agency's - Local Sheriff ? Can you use him as Transient - then return him to your hand that same turn, from Discard ? - while still getting the benefits of his +2 Resource Transient ability ?

Visiting author and local sheriff.

They go into the discard pile from what I am aware. But then again I never use transient cards so I could be wrong.
