Are Sha na ra or patmos amulet affected by smoke grenades ( can you target someone more than 1 space away with them if you are in a smoke area ? ) ?

Same question for Doom .

From the revised rulebook on p.23: Any character standing on a circle filled with smoke can only attack targets in adjacent circles. Furthermore, such characters roll two fewer dice on all attack rolls.

The keyword is attack which is described in the Combat section on p.21. Both Sha-na-ra and Patmos Amulet are not attacks since they are based on a Mental Duel and do not use the standard Combat rules. However Doom is Weapon and thus attacking with is resolved as a standard Attack.

If in doubt check the keywords. If it hasn't the Weapon Traits it usually will not be resolved as Attack Action but as an Use Equipment Action which is something entirely different.
