dungeon cards

By runkelhuhn, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

I would like to know what happens with dungeon level cards after the dungeon has been explored? Do I have to put them in the graveyard or do I put them back in the dungeon level pile. If I put them in the dungeon level pile, do I have to shuffle the pile and if, when do I have to shuffle the deck?

Thank you in advance for the answer

I don't know the official ruling honestly on this. I looked through the RtL rulebook and didn't see it explicitly stated anywhere. I know people who play it both ways however.

I personally put the dungeon levels into the OL box after they have been explored, and only shuffle those back in if the deck runs out. I typically shuffle the remaining cards at the start of a new dungeon. This way, each dungeon is unique in the game for the most part.

I don't think there is any indication of what to do in the rules. Some groups play them one by one in order, some put the 'played' dungeons aside once they have been played, usually for the purposes of variety and new experiences/challenges), some groups put them back in the deck and shuffle it, some groups put them back on the bottom of the deck. I think that it is probably more common to not shuffle them back in on the grounds of wanting to play as varied and wider challenges as possible, but that is nothing more than a guesstimate on my part.

Discuss with your group and do what you collectively like best I would say.
