Absolutely loved it.
I bought Dungeonquest, Death Watch, City of Thieves, and Death Angel. Death Angel got the most plays.
Maybe because it was kind of a perfect Convention game for us.......we played it at least 7-8 times. I'll post more later, but it felt like Space Hulk to us. Each marine team had a different feel and the locations and encounters were cool. I'd love to see what they could do with even more cards.
Big hit for my group.
My group is rather antsy to try it out as well.
I posted this in the news thread but this game ROCKS! The first thing I did on Thurs was to buy it then go play a demo.
Just because it's a card game does not make it a push over. Every end game we played was close. It took us 3 plays before we finally beat the game.
After I recover I might try a solo game this week.
Yep, it's a fun game. I'm 0/4 so far, twice losing on the last location trying to complete the objective, falling to a furious and sudden swarm of critters. It's definitely a nail biter of a game, with a lot of strategy between players as to what action to use when.
I didn't try it out at GenCon because I didn't go, but I did have a friend pick up a copy for me and I tried two solo games today, and I have to admit it's a helluva challenge and a lot of fun!
Here are my thoughts broken down:
Pros:
Cons:
Overall, it's definitely worth your hard earned gaming dollar!

Would like to have either a small zip top bag or tuck box for the components included.
Well, I for one will be sleeving the cards, thus zip locks come with the territory (as in the bag the sleeves come in).

Isn't that a better chance than in the board game? Two dice, hits on 6 for the first shot (for Storm Bolter), close combat is just really GS favoured.
@ Dam: You're right, but I usually play more of the table top wargame where marines usually hit on a 3+ dice roll. I still really like Death Angel , regardless.
Picked up a copy at GenCon (as did all 7 of the people I was there with). We tried it out during some dowtime on Thursday night and it ended up going into my bag I carried all Con so that if we got a some downtime we could play. It's not rocket science and sometimes the Genestealers get totally out of hand but overall it was a lot of fun. I found it was most fun with 3 or 4 players, in the 6 player game everyone gets less playtime. I am looking forward to some solo games when I get some time. Definitey worth the $25 I paid plus the card sleeves. I also liked that once I sleeved the game it all still fit nicely in the box (after I removed the cardboard spacer). Seems expandible as well.
Man, this blows have to wait for this game. It sounds so awesome.
An orc or CM expansion would be nice. Maybe something that follows the footsteps or the original SH expansions.
I was able to play a demo game and pick up a copy(along with a shiny new copy of Deathwatch!) at GW Games Day yesterday (8/21/10).
I'm a relatively new to board and card games but was able to pick up the basic mechanics fairly quickly - had a really fun game with a couple of other guys at the show.
Gameplay is fast and fairly intuitive once you get the hang of it. The guy doing the demo said that the rule book was a bit complicated, but once you get the cards on the table and see how it works, you pick it right up.
It scales up nicely and I'm looking forward to playing solo and trying to convince my wife to give it a try.
Definitely a recommended pick up!
I waited in line for 45 minutes to get this! I did not get a chance to play it at Gencon, but I did play my first solo game tonight. It was BRUTAL, but I made it to the last room! I cant wait to try a multi player game!
Easiest expansion would be to do different space marine chapters. Going to have to try this one out. The most recent board game version was sold out before I could even have a chance to buy one at the game store. It looks to be compact in size, which is also always a huge plus.

that was me running the demo at Games Day, hope you had fun. For me at least, the rulebook didn't really "click" until I also had the cards and went through the motions of a game. But I agree, it's a great game and we've been playing a lot here at work actually.
