Some GenCon W:I tidbits I picked up relating to this great game

By Wytefang, in Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game

Heard some interesting things while at the Con today - Steve Horvath (head of Marketing and VP of FFG) said that Empire and Order itself will really rock by the end of this cycle, particularly the last few battlepacks. Spoke with Eric Lang for a bit today (since we used to work together back in the day) - he was the original creator of W:I and still creates cards here and there while consulting for the game. He said that he definitely planned for their to be the capabilities to create a unit-less deck but that he was not expecting it to be so powerful or functional as it currently seems to be. He also said that W:I is probably his favorite game design of all his work and some of the recent Dwarf units are still from his design or reflect some of his input. :) It's nice to know that he's still provided some fairly recent guidance and support for the game.

Silent Forge should ship out to stores late next week or just after that, so I'd expect to be able to buy it in stores in about 2 weeks roughly. :)

Right now it looks like there are about 30 people, give or take, playing in the GC tournament.

These are the only things I've learned, so far, but I thought some of you guys might be interested in some of this stuff.

Very interested. Keep the info coming.

Definitely seems like Dwarves and Empire are getting the love so far this cycle - as opposed to Destro last cycle.

Yeah, I definitely agree. I'll keep you posted on anything else I hear. )

Was Silent Forge available at gen con? Do you have a spoiler? We just need one more god, Slaanesh, is the Prince of Pleasure in this cycle?

Hi,

Thank you for every little information you share us !

I have some questions, I would apreciate if you could get some answers...

- Will chaos get an effective non-attachment support in the near future ? It seams that currently they are the only faction to lack an effective resource engine.

- Will we get a reprint anytime soon for the cards reworded in the FAQ ? (as Shrine to Nurgle etc)

- Are the factions currently lacking any support removal (DE, Chaos, HE) getting such effect ? It would be nice, so it would be easier to have mono-faction decks.

Thats all... sorry if I'm asking too much. :)

I will try to get answers. Right now the big thing Destruction needs is a Tactic-canceler, it might go a long way to helping handle BT Decks.
