Hordes clarification

By KommissarK, in Deathwatch

Since there isn't an example in the demo, I just got a few questions on the wounding mechanics.

In Final Sanction, it states that for every 15 points of damage dealt to a horde, it decreases magnitude by 1. Alright, sounds simple. Does this mean then that any one attack has to deal 18+ damage in one hit (on the rebels, 3 TB, 0 armour) for the magnitude to decrease by 1, or is damage tracked across hits, and that each time 15 points of damage is dealt, magnitude decreases by 1?

I'm inclined to believe it is the former of the two, but this implies that its possible a hit causes no actual effect on a horde (on a boltgun held by a tac marine, roll 10 total with 2d10, and thats less than 18 total damage).

Thanks

Note that the 15 damage is an example. The rules actually says that "each hit that causes any amount of damage (after Toughness Bonus and Armour) reduces a Horde's Magnitude by one."

Oh, wow, thanks, didn't fully realize that first line in that. Interesting. Alright, well that simplifies things even more.

Hordez=Magic Bullet?
