I'm rather new to DH, and despite looking through Core and Creatures Anathema, I can't seem to find out what the numbers in parentheses above certain characteristics in some NPC and creature stat blocks mean. I'm only making a post since I can't for the life of me find where it is in the books, and couldn't find it searching the forums or other resources.

Do you mean Unnatural stats?

Those numbers in parentheses are the characteristic bonus for that character because they have something that modifies it from the tens digit of the characteristic. Unnatural characteristic and demonic are the most common things that cause this, but there are others.
