If you use CoC's enhance and Ms's Good Character R, does CoC cause the opponent to discard 1 card? Also, if you use a card to completely block the attack without actually blocking, like Seal of Structure, does the effect of CoC kick in as long as the card has a block modifier?

Nice work on including card text! (Very much appreciated)

If they block with Mysterious Stance, yes, they would discard 1 card due to CoC.

If they use the effect of a card like seal of structure, they would discard 2 cards, because Seal Of Structure's block modifier is 2, and it's providing the blocking effect.

Yes! New deck idea! And thanks for answering!

Interesting...it works even though there is no "block card"? Hum! Looks like there's another way to abuse this one...

there IS a block card. it's MS. just like Tycho was the card that blocked. the same reason soul power/toubled orphan can get around both.

If I am playing E Honda ("While this card is committed, your block modifiers get -2.") and I wrangle out a negative block modifier, does Chain of Command just effectively round up to zero? Because my opponnet cannot discard a negative number of cards.

I think it should round up to zero.

Pretty much, yeah. It works like 0.

when you have to discard an amount of cards, you are dealing with 'real (or counting) numbers'

those numbers are Zero to +Infinity

any equation that provides any other result will end with no cards discarded

I know this is nitpicking but in thing case your using the Natural Number set....

And in some cases the Interger Number set is used. There are no explicit rules in this game for deterimining which is to be used and its a

case by case basis....sorry for being nitpicky.

Whole numbers would be correct. Real numbers refers to any non-imaginary number. Pi is a real number. Its irrational. But still real.

i said 'real' as opposed to 'whole' (which is the same as counting) for a reason. discarding 3.5 cards would be rounded up (or down, depending on the effect).
