Career Characteristic increse question

By Wolfmanss, in WFRP Rules Questions

Okay i got this Norse Bersker, i loooove the stat Strength.

Hope im not the player number 9999xxxxxxx asking this :S

On my career card its says

Primary Characteristics

Strength & Toughness

| 2 Action | 1 Talent |

| 2 Skill | 1 Fortune |

| 0 Consevative | 2 Reckless |

| 2 Wound |

Lets say ive played long enough to get to rank 2. I get all these 10 points to spend on the respective talents, skill etc. How do i convert any of them into a primary characteristic? For example from 5 Strength to 6 Strength (wich ofc requires 6 points). Where do i take/get these points from? If i do not ge it from my advance points, then where?

Im really retarded regarding this, ive been looking over the book, but i dont see "How to use points for Characteristics"

Many thanks upfront.

Simon

Oh dear, i just take it from my advance points, it says in the book loud and clear. duh!

Oh oh. Got a question tho!

Lets say im gonna go from 10 Strength to 11 after (84 sessions later when my char has gotten real juicy), what im saying is going from 10 to 11 requires 11 Advancement points, is it possible to save some points for next rank? or its up to the game master?

6 is the maximum you can buy a primary characteristic up to. And 5 is the max for other characteristics.

WFRP Errata, pg 3, Improving Primary Characteristics For a Career:

"Since there are only six Open Career Advance lines on the General
Career Advances portion of the advancement worksheet, a primary
characteristic cannot be increased above 6. "

For non-career characteristics:

"Since increasing a characteristic that is not one of the current
career’s primary characteristics costs one additional advance, a
character can not increase a non-primary characteristic above 4 ."

Open Career Advance? What is that?, cant seem to find it spicificly.

Aah okay. I get it now.

But this has led me to another question regarding advancing your career.

Under the exaple of a PC who has incresed his Toughness like this:

in pg. 36 in the core rulebook

|x| Open Career Advancement: Fotune die (toughness) - What does that "Fortune die" mean/do ?

It just means whenever you roll a check based on that stat you get to add an extra white die to the pool.
