Card question Warpstone Excavation

By player1971, in Warhammer Invasion Rules Questions

I have been out of the loop for a while (deployed overseas in the military).

I am trying to understand the power of Warpstone Excavation? At the moment I am seeing it as a card that does offer you one power for 0 cost, but the effect seems to me like it would seriously screw you over. All units enter the zone corrupted? Isn't that detrimental?

I see on the forums everyone is saying it's a "power 9" card, but I don't understand why. Can anyone explain this to me?

Thanks!

Because the corruption penalty is negligible, you can easily play around it or just plain ignore it.

Yeah after I thought about it I started thinking about putting it in my quest zone. Then if I play a card to a quest who cares if it comes in corrupted. It still counts for the quest. Right?

Yes, it still quests. Also, it you have multiple Warpstones in the same zone, it doesnt add up, since you can only corrupt a unit once, of course.

same with the kingdom.. i mean the thing is broken, if you don't run 3 "uninstall plz".

only deck i see this hurting is blue, fly your hero into that warpstone, i dare ya.. or your Fing pistolers.. then you cant smash my face with them later.. HA

That's why they have Derricksburg Forge.

Do not forget that some armies like Chaos get bonuses for corupted units. So if a unit enters play corrupted it could be a good thing.
