Am I doing advanced skils correctly?

By frankcastle1975, in WFRP Rules Questions

1) Let's say an advanced skill medicine is part of my career.

During character creation I must spend one point to know the skill and one more point to roll an expertise die and one more point to get a specialization.

So medicine can cost 1 to 3 points.

After character creation the cost is still the same.

2) If it is not part of my career then the cost is double what was typed before?

Step 1 (Acquiring): 1 Advance as career, 4 as non-career

Step 2 (Training) 1 Advance as career, 4 as non-career

You can only take a specialisation if the skill is on your career card. 1 Advance or free if you had trained it and take the dedication bonus at the end of your career.

Thanks I didn't realize specializations were only allowed if you have the skill on your card.

But a good rule as it makes career choice more significant.
