WFRP3 & MapTools

By Gitzman, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Dudes,

Well i have some good news! I got off my butt and started doing WFRP3 for MapTools! I've been working on the RuleSet, Macros and Tables for a good part of today.

What i've got working so far...

  • I've made all the dice rolls as Macros which link to a table (and show a graphic of each die rolled once clicked).
  • I've added the ruleset and states and any appropriate characteristics i can think of.
  • I've added the damage model, so wounds and criticals accurately register a healthbar, knockout, critically wounded, and death on PC and NPC tokens.
  • I've also added a stance meter for the token which can go from neutral to 8 reckless or conservative.

I'll give more details and progress soon as well as a download link for a Template Campaign Map.

As always it will be available at Gitzman's Galleree at the following link:

I am interested to hear requests and or known limitations on where this project should go. As of right now i dont have a lot of direction and am implementing rules and functions as i think of them. I do not anticipate this to be able to handle the entire ruleset for WFRP3, however it will handle a large portion of the minutia and stat recording.

hi

That's nice.

I am looking forward to the dice roller. I know there's an Iphone app, but who want's a ******.

How do you want to implement the distance? AFIK Maptool does grid (hex/square) that'll be a major challange.

Keep us informed.

Fantastic, thanks very much.

Dudes,

Well i think for those who want to use MapTools, they are looking for a more rigid version of the gameplay with a little more automation. If that is the case, then i think we'd all just have to go with the idea that the MapTools version will use what it can from the core rule book and use similar roleplaying systems for things it cannot (like movement for example, i'll probably lean on 2nd edition style movement or D&D).

I've got the dice rolling working in tables where you can roll each die one at a time to create a pool, but this is not ideal. It works. Im working now on allowing the user to create the 'pool' before rolling.

On the other hand, i've got the system up and running to the point where someone could start playing the game, using MapTools as a supplement & game board. All players would need to have with them are the cards. Implementing the cards and automating their functions is going to be a project i ahve not decided how to handle yet.

I'll try to upload what i've got going some time over the next day or so (i want to make sure their are no tweak out bugs)

Game on,

Gitzman
