scout vs Master Rune of Valaya and Blessings of Tzeentch

By numskully, in Warhammer Invasion Rules Questions

Does the scout ability trigger if a Master Rune of Valaya has been played?

When you search from Blessings of Tzeentch, can you choose just 1 unit to be played or do you have to choose all units you find and choose 1 randomly?

thanks

Scout doesn't need to do damage, just survive combat in order to trigger. With MRoV cancelling all damage, pretty certain Scout survived, thus triggers.

I think we're all waiting for a ruling on BoT. Going on wording, if you sac a unit and top 5 cards have Bloodthrister, 3x Servants of Khorne and a Support, you could just pick the BT. So much for the whole random business though.

Thanks for the info Dam! Looks like they changed the wording in the rule book about scout.

Wait, what? Was Scout at some point tied to the unit with Scout dealing damage (and surviving)?

Nah, it was always "survives combat".

And the intention, most all of us agree, is for search cards to find all eligible cards in the search. Yet the wording allows for secretive manipulation. Honor system in a hobby card game?! Perish the thought!! angel.gif

Thought perished.

The rule book says "After combat damage is applied..." so I thought combat damage had to be dealt for the scout ability to occur, but I guess not!

thanks for the info all!

Technically, you would still apply all of your damage as normal and THEN it would just be canceled.

Except MRoV cancels all damage assigned, not applied. I suppose one could argue that you are applying infinite amounts of 0 dmg gran_risa.gif .

I meant assign!! I would be in favor of an anti-scout ruling for MRoV or Gifts, though.
