Winning/losing challenge by X or more STR

Let's say Bob attacks me in military challenge with Old Nan attached with a rusted sword and I leave the challenge unopposed.

We count STR, he totals 4 and I got 0 so he wins by 4.

I cancel the determination of the winner with Feigned Retreat and I win the challenge by (4 or -4)?

For instance, I would like to trigger the effect of the Flaming-Pitch Tower : is that possible?

No, because the requirement total STR 4 or more greater than opponent's is not met.
