No problem. Gimme your thoughts on Zoth Ommog and all is forgiven, lol gran_risa.gif

::laughter:: It's not an easy task, basically because by changing the components of the monsters cup, you could alter dramatically the balance of the game. Besides, you alter the mechanics even more by transforming all mosnters into endless monsters. My only suggestion is: try it. Playtest it strongly, and see if things work or not. Buuut, as for now, I like the idea of a GOO with weapon immunity. His doom track is a little long, maybe 12 could be better, but really, the best thing you can do with this guy here is a strong playtesting.

And... I like the picture a lot!

Yes :') make some more scenario images in the meanwhile.

Yessirrah! And chek the e-mail, I need help with an image ;-)

And sorry, Bhu, for hijacking your thread

I'm not apologizing. Give us this thread or we blow up your plane!

Unfortunately for you I haz no plane.

Although I may do a Hello Kitty expansion of Arkham Horror in revenge demonio.gif

So if I do one of the projects I'm thinkng of whats posting ettiquette here for something with so many cards? Zip files?

Uh... I've no idea what the ettiquette would be. I guess you could post everything in the respective threads, or you could make a thread of your own to post everything in and then post a link to that thread in the threads it might be relevant to (or just one of the threads, whatever you feel like really). There aren't that many custom expansions released so, there's not really a normal proceedure for it ;'D

P.S. if you make that Hello Kitty expansion... I will hijack a real plane and blow you up for real. FOR REALZ!

One Hello Kitty it is gran_risa.gif

Perhaps with a side order of My Little Pony gran_risa.gif

Complete with Orbital Friendship Cannon gran_risa.gif

Seriously though, I need to pick one of these ideas and go for it. The Unspeakable Vault one will be tough cause I wanna do comic parodies somehow od the AO cards yet still have them be effective in game.

NNNNNNNYOOOOOOOOOO!

... Seriously? Go with the My Little Pony expansion.

Buh, you seem suspicously skilled in this dark matter.

But anyway, I want to see the My little pony Order too.

Alas I know nothing of the show beyond using it to tease Avi.

However someone else is making a Dreamlands expansion, so that leaves me the Unspeakable, the cultist game, or a request.

Needless to say MLP would require research on my part...

and a loss of sanity.

Also has anyone used Strange Eons to modify the Investigator Cards? I need to find a way to add Dimensional SYmbols to them.

Yeah, somebody could have asked something similar. Maybe Musha? Don't know. But if you post your question in the SE thread or start a thread asking help in SE, it'll be more easily noticed by Thelric or someone else able to help you (not all people read all threads in the Fan creation section, I guess)

Cultist Cards

The Cultist card will look pretty much exactly like an Investigator card with one exception. In the top right corner (or wherever I can get Strange Eons to add it) it will have a Dimensional Symbol normally found on Gate/Monster tokens. A Cultist does not need to make Horror or Combat Checks against Monsters with the same symbol as they are on the same side. As the original game begins with 16 Investigators I need 16 cultists. I was thinking of:

Circle: Witch, Warlock, Mi-Go in disguise

Hexagon: Dark Druid, Child of the Goat, Ghoul

Plus: Deep One Hybrid, Deep One, Priest of Dagon

Crescent: Cultist, Maniac, Serpent Man, Vampire, Tcho-Tcho, Werewolf, Tcho-Tcho Priest

Monster Cards

I need a new dimensional symbol to represent the good guys of Arkham as Monster Cards, Police, investigators, etc.

Investigator Cards

These will look exactly like Herald Cards, and pretty much work like them too. The game begins with one Investigator trying to stop the Cultists. Each Investigator card will have a set of circumstances that allows them to call an additional Investigator to help (max number of Investigator cards is equal to the number of Cultists). Unlike normal Heralds, the Cultists will have some sort of very difficult option to confront or kill teh Investigator.

Ancient One Cards

These will look pretty much the same, except you're trying to fill the Doom Track to awaken the Ancient One. It will probably not have Combat Rating/Defenses/Power/Attack listed though. These will be replaced by abilities helpful to the Cultists similar to a Herald.

Sound ok so far?

Oh, I get it, this is an attempt to finally get me to snap, murder, and be driven from the boards for violating TOS. Well I'm not falling for that trap.

Wait a second... Someone actually made one?

MUUUUUURDEEEEEERRRRR!

Well they haent finished it yet, but they're giving me advice on making one :D

Whilst I do that I need to figure out some mechanics for the cultist game. To win you must unseal all the Gates, while the Investigators try to keep them shut. You start facing one Investigator, who may call up others under certain circumstances. I'm just wondering if I should make one set of circumstances apply to them all, or make it depend on each Investigator (which could be a lot to keep track of).

Okay some current thoughts:

The Cultists win by Unsealing all the Gates or killing the Investigators (as usual gates are easier).

Gates are unsealed by 5 Clue Tokens (and a Lore Check), and possible spells/items. cultist abilities.

If at any point the number of Investigators equals the Cultists, they have to fight them.

The Cultists begin with an Investigator. Whenever the Cultists fail a Lore Check to unseal a Gate, roll 1 die. On a 5 or 6 another Investigator appears. Each time the Terror Track rises high enough to close another location, another Investigator appears

Possible cultist ideas:

Katell Yanick: Old woman, witch, begins at Historical Society, cultist counterpart to Amanda Sharpe, social outcast, ability dealing with lore or spells

Ioel Obed Marsh: Deep One Hybrid, begins at Hibb' s Roadhouse, cultist counterpart to Ashcan Pete, fish gutter, ability unsure

Marek Laska: Ghoul, begins at graveyard, cultist counterpart to bob jenkins, funeral parlor owner, ability unsure

Father Eliot: Priest of Dagon, begins in Independence Square, cultist counterpart to carolyn fern, street preacher, ability unsure

Josef Rybar: Cultist, begins in Witch House, cultist counterpart to darell simons, street thug, ability unsure

Aloys Pan: Warlock, begins in Silver Twilight lodge, cultist counterpart to Dexer Drake, Lodge officer, spells

Lys: Child of the Goat, begins in Woods, cultist counterpart to Gloria Goldberg, farmers daughter, ability unsure

Mr. Booth: Mi-Go, begins in Science Building, cultist counterpart to Harvey Walters, monster in disguise, flight

Dawud Ali: Serpent Man, begins in Curiositie Shoppe, cultist counterpart to Jenny Barnes, wealthy merchant, ability unsure

Ferko Bocori: Maniac, begins in jail, cultist counterpart to Joe Diamond, murderer, combat?

Binh Tran: Tcho Tcho Priest, begins in Ye Olde Magic Shoppe, cultist counterpart to Kate winthrop, exotic priest, gates

Tuyet Tran: Tcho Tcho, begins in Ma's Boarding House, cultist counterpart to Mandy Thompson, assassin, cannibal

Luca Nicolescu: Werewolf, begins in Unvisited Isle, cultist counterpart ot Michael McGlen, cursed hunter, combat

Belenos: Dark Druid, begins in the Unnameable, cultist counterpart to monterey jack, servant of the goat, ability unsure

Andor: Vampire, begins in the Black Cave, cultist counterpart to sister mary, killer in the night, ability unsure

The River Monster: Deep One, begins in River Docks, cultist counterpart to Vincent Lee, urban legend, ability unsure

Trying to get SE to edit in a new type of dimensional symbol. Will have first bit posted once i get it to work.

My apologies for the lack of posting, the Brilliant Gameologist FOrums went down, and then started anew and I've had to move a few hundred pages of material from the old forums to the new ones. Will have updates soon.

Since cultists would be fighting lots of humans ive been considering some new abilties

New Dimensional Symbol

Blank Monsters with the Blank Dimensional only move depending on which Investigators are in the game, or in circumstances mentioned on their card or abilities.

New Monster Abilities

Academic If a Monster with the Academic Ability is killed, replace it with another Monster with the Academic ability from the cup. The new Monster always starts in the Train Station as it has been hired by the University to replace the killed one.

Badge Whenever a Monster with one of the following abilities is killed a Monster with the Badge Ability moves 1 space towards the Location or Street Area where the Monster died: Academic, Badge, Crime Boss, Criminal, Faux Badge, Local, Veteran, or Wealthy.

Crime Boss If a Crime Boss is killed, and any Monster with the Criminal Ability is on the board, remove that Monster as well and replace it with another Monster from the cup with the Crime Boss ability (effectively it got promoted).

Criminal Whenever a Monster with one of the following abilities is killed a Monster with the Criminal Ability moves 1 space towards the Location or Street Area where the Monster died: Badge, Crime Boss, Criminal, Faux Badge, Local, Veteran, or Wealthy.

Faux Badge Whenever a Monster with one of the following abilities is killed a Monster with the Faux Badge Ability moves 1 space towards the Location or Street Area where the Monster died: Badge, Crime Boss, Criminal, Faux Badge, Veteran, or Wealthy.

Local If a Monster with the Local Ability is killed, whichever Location they started in is permanently closed.

Occult If a Monster with the Occult Ability is killed, replace it with another Monster with the Occult ability from the cup. The new Monster always starts in the Train Station to represent a new wizard coming to town because of a perceived power vacuum.

Religious If a Monster with the Religious Ability is killed, replace it with another Monster with the Religious ability from the cup. The new Monster always starts in the Train Station as it has been sent by the Church to replace the killed one.

SCIENCE! If a Monster with the SCIENCE! Ability is killed, replace it with another Monster with the SCIENCE! ability from the cup. The new Monster always starts in the Train Station as it has been hired by the University to replace the killed one.

Veteran If a Monster with the Veteran Ability is killed, replace it with another Monster with the Veteran ability from the cup. The new monster always starts in the Train Station (the towns hired a new Sheriff so to speak).

Wealthy If a Monster with the Wealthy Ability is killed, all Monsters with the Badge Ability have their Awareness increased by 1 until the next Event Card is drawn (i.e. if their Awareness was a -2 it's temporarily a -3, etc.).

I like the idea of new monster abilities, but a lot of those seem like a PITA, where you have to look through the monster cup for something with a particular type to replace another, or remember a lot of traits to trigger different things. And the Local one is wonky, in that you have to remember where it started to close that location. Seems like too convoluted of a system.

Locals come with their starting locations on the monster chit. For example, one Local Monster will be Ma Mathison. She starts at Ma's boarding house. All Locals also have the yellow movement type, meaning they never move.

Out of the other abilities, Badge and Criminal will be the ones encountered mostly as there's a fairly limited selection of the others (about 2-4 each depending).

I can still work on simplifying it in other ways tho
