All wizard campaign?

By Necrozius, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Thanks to the material in the Winds of Magic supplement (which kicks all kinds of ass, btw), I've been toying with the idea of a campaign in which all of the protagonists are wizards.

Here are a few key points that I'm contemplating:

  • Each wizard is of a different Order.
  • Each character gets a handful of free, NON-Career advances to spend on Skills. The reason for this is not only add a bit of diversity to the party, but to reflect who they were prior to joining the colleges.
  • Putting a focus on rituals and collaborative spellcasting. There's a bit of houseruling here, obviously, but it would be neat if, to defeat the main antagonist, the protagonists had to pool their resources together, collect rare ingredients and perform a huge ritual.

Anyhoo, have any of you ran a similar campaign in this system or any others? Do you think that this could work? Is this remotely feasible?

Great idea, I say that because I've had it as well. Your idea about collaborative spell casting though is sweet, sounds like the whole Ghostbusters "crossing the streams," idea. Of course it also could be an innovative way in which the party slowly learns through adventuring together that they can combine their magics into a blend of different winds, creating unique spell effects. Tying it into the story and role-playing sounds like a great deal of fun. Creating wizard inclined party sheets might also be in order such as an Arcane Brotherhood or the Order of the Spectrum jump to mind as possible names, but I'm sure their are better ones. Well, have fun with it and let us know how it goes. If I have any more thoughts I'll post as well. Good luck.
