Ancient One Final Battle

By alboy, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

l have two questions about a Final Battle.

1) Do you roll to keep or discard a Blessing card in the Upkeep phase.

2) When checking for Skill checks, when the Ancient Ones Attacks, can you still use clue tokens to roll another die if you fail the check, if that is the case and the Skill check is for -5 and you have only 3 does using only 1 clue and rolling a 5 or 6 count as a automatic pass of a Skill.

The Upkeep Phase for Final Combat has been ruled to be a full Upkeep Phase, so blessings and curses are still rolled for.

And yes, clues can be used for the skill checks when the AO attacks. A clue will ALWAYS add a die to a skill check, you never have to make up for negative dice. Which to put simply means, the lowest amount of dice you can have for a skill check is 0, and a clue will always add another.

DoomTurtle is right but remember that some AO's take clue tokens as damage and if you run out you are Devoured!

Actually, this is not exactly the case. You only get devoured when those AOs attack. You could spend your very last clue to attack Nyarlathotep and you wouldn't immediately die. However, you'd better make sure you're taking him out with that one clue, or else you will die at his next attack. Or maybe you've canceled his attack or got lucky with an Epic Battle draw.
