Need deck lists from tournaments/championships/others

By _iceman_, in 4. AGoT Deck Construction

Hi,

where can I find tournament/championship's deck lists?

That allways helps the process of exploring new ideas for new decks.

I'm used to have lots of information about strategies, deck lists, articles, etc. in other card games like Magic and WoW tcg that I play, but somehow for A Game of Thrones the only information I can find is in this forum, and is scarce.

Is there any other websites (official/unofficial) where we can find deck lists and other resources?

Thanks a lot.

I'm pretty sure I saw some old decklists from the CCG era (look for the archived Tzumain site).

But as you said, it's scarce now that it's become a Living Card Game.

And I have a theory: now that the cards no longer have a "rarity", anyone can pretty much copy anybody else's LCG deck if you have the decklist published. So people are probably a bit more "secretive" now about their specific deck list.

There's not really a centralized site where people post lists right now. This forum probably has the most recent lists. Trying searching the other subforums too. In subforums 1 (general) and 3 (tournaments) people often post decklists towards the end of threads dedicated to specific tournaments. tzumainn.com used to be a place where people would post lists and tournament reports, but it's no longer supported. People were also posting lists to agotwiki.com but that site is not loading for me at the moment. I know Gualdo and the Italian meta at least are working on a new tzumainn-like site where things like decklists could be posted.

As a new player I have been looking for similar info. Many of the older forum posts link to Tzumainn which no longer work. But I have found some good more recent deck lists for you to check out:

There may be some minor errors in these deck lists I have posted as I am trying to figure out the cards via google translate. In particular the 4th place Targ deck above had a card that translated as homeless, which I thought was Planes Refugee, but I now believe should have been street waif because the 3rd place deck had both refugee and homeless listed, but there doesn't appear to be any way for me to edit the post. There are also many of the decks where I don't know for sure which version of a card was used in cases of uniques. Some I took a guess based on most likely, others I just left unlinked.

Google Translated comments:

This is the Baratheon Shadow and Winter deck that placed 2nd in the LCG Fair Tournament in Stalheck 09.

It is a very slow deck, trying to maintain control using Baratheon shadow locations, Condemned by the Order of the Council, Motley, and the -1 gold penalty from winter.

If you can get the Queen of Thorns into play fast (and keep her alive) you can get to 15 power fast. Hidden Chambers helps to bring cards out of shadows for cheap each phase.

Some minor adjustments I would make:

+1 The Queen of Thorns

+1 Milk of the Poppy

-1 Compelled by the Crown

what about Martell decks?

There is one in the links above: 2nd place in the Spanish Joust Championship.

Yes, the only recent Martell tourney deck I found was this one that I linked above. The European aGoT sites seem to have a lot more content at the moment than any english sites I have found, but using google translate to read them can be challenging to understand. But the Casterly Rock Spanish site is a good one to look over if you can deal with the inaccuracies of google translate, or even better if you speak spanish.

Targaryan Shadows Deck

House: Targaryen

Agenda: None

Plot Deck

Google Translated Comments : The City plots are devestating and work too well to ignore. City of Spies allows us to see the opponents card draws for up two turns ahead and get rid of the most troublesome threat.

Threat from the North could hurt our characters, but since we get to pick when it is played it shouldn't be a problem.

Characters (30)

Google Translated Comments: Influence and gold very cheap for the shadows. Surprising damage is done gradually with Refugees, while the Assassins and burn cards do their work.

Furthermore, many characters to feed the Dragonpit, for Kingdom of Shadows and King's Landing and some bargain cost and good ability characters such as Brown Ben Plumm, Jorah, the Khal and Viserys.

Locations (21)

Google Translated Comments: There are 2 key locations in the deck. Dragonpit and King's Landing. If there is a good flow of cards it is hell to beat, and the dragonpit's -1 Str makes things much easier to burn.

Moreover, influence and gold to maintain Forever Burning in your hand is key. Shivering Sea helps a lot here at 0 cost in improving setup.

The Spear Tower is there to be combo'ed with Threat from the North and the Dragonpit to kill all characters who do not have 3 iconmil.jpg instead of being discarded. Only Westeros Bleeds and Valar can exceed it.

Finally no hills. They may be useful, but I wanted to try without them. If I were to add them, I would remove Ben Plumm and The Spear Tower to add 2 x Rhaenys's Hill

This could be very useful, but I want to test the deck's stability before adding a card which is very good, but probably too expensive to play comfortably in many cases.

Events (6)

Google Translated Comments: Little to say here. The Legacy kills a lot, but unfortunately has to survive intrigue discard risks from Lannister as it is played in Domination phase.

Attachments:

  • 3 x Dragon's Skull
  • 3 x Flame-Kissed

Google Translated Comments: Standard burn cards. If you have played with or against Targaryan you know what it is like when the opponent has either of these two... because with these 6 cards, plus the 6 burn events there are 12 cards that can kill, a treat when you are the one playing them.

Some may notice there are no A Clash of Arms (black border) cards in the deck. To be a Dragon is very good, but it requires removing a City plot for the Fury of the Dragon. in addition very few characters in this deck are important enough to be worth saving from death. The only black border card I miss sometimes is Dragon Thief to get rid of attachments, but little else.
