Character Races

By jross2000xxx, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Hey guys, I have never played Warhammer Fantasy Role Play. I am very interested in playing but knowing my group I will probbably be a DM...

BUT ANYWAY... I was just wondering if you all could explain the playable races to me?

I assume there is human, elf, dwarf. But does it cover the other less savory races too? Could one have a Skaven PC? Or and Orc/Goblin PC? Stuff like that?

More specifically, If I wanted to create a Skaven character or a Chaos character is their a sourcebook for that? If there is which books would I look into for that?

The only races you can play as are human, dwarf, high elf and wood elf. Halflings are said be coming in an expansion, but no news yet. Other races may or may not come in an expansion, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Alright. Thanks anyway... Is there nothing in the previous editions that I could use as source material for chaos or skaven or other races?

WOOHOO 2nd edition has races and classes for just about every faction in warhammer... too bad it is hard to get a hold of the source material.

Get the pdf's, it has all the content, and will cost you much less than trying to get everything on EBay.

I concur with the PDF notion.

Also, I'll add that the Skaven PC rules in Shadow of the Horned Rat are particularly good - I've run an entertaining campaign off of them
