Astropath "Sight" ?

By Fritz666, in Rogue Trader Gamemasters

An Astropath's eyes have been burned out but replaced with their "special" sight ability.

Is this "special" sight ability still subject to the standard visibility modifiers ?

If so, do the visibilty modifiers also modifier their ability to affect a target, as they must have a line of sight to use many powers ?

Cheers, Chris

I was wondering the same thing. In particular, one of my explorers packs Smoke grenades and everyone wanted to know if they affect the psyker. The rules basically say that anything that would use Line of Sight will still impact the Astro, but it just doesn't make sense that smoke would prevent a psyker from seeing the aura of his target, which is essentially what they're doing. There are special exceptions for some things, but not others. I would like to rule that smoke would NOT effect the psyker.

Blind grenades are one of the things that specifically doesn't affect an astropath. The only important difference between smoke and blind grenades here is that blind grenades block more of the EM spectrum than smoke grenades do.

So the astropath would be immune to the smoke grenade.

Right on. Thanks!
