Special followers which are going with you thanks to your special ability or an object etc. (Mostly they were Enemies before.)
How to treat them? Can they be stolen, sacrificed, killed etc. like ordinary followers?

Looks like all these Followers are treated "like Followers" but are not actually Followers. They can't be stolen, sacrificed or killed in any way. If they have to be ditched on a space because the Character is forced by some effect, they're discarded.
This is the ruling so far, I hope I didn't get something wrong.
Oh, I see.
If we have to dich them we left them on a space and they become enemies again. I assume we're wrong then.
So they are even not endangered in the Chasm etc.? That's odd.
I seem to recall that for the character who has them (let's say Ogre Chieftain) they are treated just like normal Followers, they just don't have the keyword. But being normal followers, you can sacrifice them, you can lose them if something calls for it (Chasm, Reaper), although they can't be mesmerised away, lacking the Follower keyword. If you ditch one of them, they go to the discard pile, same as if you get Toaded, the special Followers are discarded, not ditched like the rest of your cards.

You can still lose them in the chasm.
You treat them just as normal followers (as dam said)
I also use the rule that they become normal enemies again after you ditch them.
The players can choose which rule they want to use. Ditching those special followers makes more sense.
