I love the huge stack of cards. It makes you wonder....when is such and such card ever going to show up. I also like mix matching and cross shuffling, I'm like "is that enough yet, nah a few more times."

Ever wonder "why bother with expansion icons on Adventure cards, other than those with the required icon?" Because they allow filtering the deck. We'll sometimes filter out the base deck, then include only cards from one particular expansion. It makes for some nice variation in a themed game for the evening, such as with only Frostmarch and Jon New's Ice Queen now and then. It makes those cards more likely to come up, and I'd imagine the Sacred Pool will be very fitting for this approach.

I hope that on GenCon (5-8 August) we get more news about this magnificent expansion. On the banner on BGG site we can see 2 cards form this expansion (Life? Tap spell + Fallen Angel adventure card) and some minis. One of them is very interesting sitting character - it could be someone like Inquisitor... Alingment presents as a very goog theme and until now it is too downplay IMO. Denizens of Talisman land should care if the battle for CoC win good or evil one...

I wonder if in Stable cards they add Horse, Horse and Cart and Warhorse only? Maybe they include new type of horse - but it couldn't be lost by Horse Thief or Hidden Chasm... It looks that some Stables appears in adventure cards on the main board not only in the City as in 2nd ed. More ways to spend a gold are always welcomed!

New type of cards are always welcomed! It seems that two of the characters will start a game with a horse but the qestion is which type of horse? Starting with Warehorse can give a big advantage... I am curious about sitting Character- it looks like Judge or 2nd ed Inquisitor. I think it will have some special abilities refered to alignment. Fallen Angel (adv) and Change Alignment (spell?) illustrations are featured on Felicia Cano's blog and both looks great! Apart from 32 small graphics she made all 4 Characters for The Sacred Pool. Wow!

Well well well. They are coming out thick and fast now.

4 characters on the cover but a figurine of a cowled character in a chair which does not seem to match any of them.

I would say that this character was intentionally left out of the picture as it would not really sit well in the composition.

Ok so trying to guess the characters, it would seem obvious that we have a "Lady of the Lake" who seems to be the major character and a NPC.

The theme seems to be alignment which I am sure is peaking JC's interest.

It would also seem obvious that the 3 characters represent the 3 options for alignment Good/Neutral/Evil

Good: Elven type character on white horse

Neutral: Mace wielding female

Evil: Black Knight

Other: Cowled character in chair

First of all I would possibly agree with other here that the lazy boy is going to be the Inquisitor or some variation of.

If I remember correctly his alignment was "Any" and was chosen after all other characters had been determined.

This would seem to tie in the the theme and also allow 4 characters when there are 3 possible theme variations.

As for the remainder, I cannot think of any missing previous characters that these could represent.

Possibly Neutral female could be a Ranger? The good character looks a little generic. Swordsman ?

Hopefully brand new characters.

I would think that the "Lake Lady" would not be of any fixed alignment.

Finally, good to hear mention of DragonLance, to try and match the characters purely on appearance to that:

Lord Soth (Death Knight)

Tika Waylan (red-headed Barmaid turned warrior)

Gilthas (Elven prince)

Mishakal (Good goddess of healing)

and the guy in the chair.... would have to be...

My big hope is that FFG will do as it has done a couple of times... release the manual ahead of the expansion's completion so we can have a deep preview. Indeed I'm curious about the alignment issue, and I hope that Neutral card isn't just a reissue of the one from the old days. I hope it serves greater purpose with this expansion. There's a hint in the first SP news item, but it doesn't yet tell us enough to know for sure.

And of course I'm hoping for something along the lines of the Warlock's Quests... a gameplay scenario rather than just an AltEnd where the Lady is concerned. That would be tasty.

Oh, for the link in your signature you might change it to the "Talisman Art Database" so people get a clearer notion of what it really links to. Or do you intent to expand you Dev site to include more than art?

I wish Artists will agree to join this small group and share their illustrations. Basically the group now is in beta stadium. I mentioned about it in this topic but I don't want announce it yet until I'll gather at least one expansion or almost one. I even didn't mentioned about it in my Polish boards.

I was thinking about making a folder for "Talisman related" images, like painted figures, or gameplay or custom fanmade cards. Eventually some poetry. But now I'm more involved in getting official images than everything else. But I didn't dropped that previous idea yet, and I'm pretty sure that it may come true anytime soon. Of course I'm open for any suggestions.

Yikes! Don't overload yourself. Getting all those images you're after (and likely you won't get all of them for some very good reasons) will be a quest unto itself.

I'm not into figurines myself, but of the other ideas you mention that would be a fun one... for later!
