Question in Talisman new Edition + old editions

By stofferm, in Talisman Rules Questions

Hello,

I hope I can be allowed to ask a question which might be valid in the new edition of talisman - this weekend, in lack of the new edition, we played the old 2nd edition. It comes with Timescape expansion plus some White Dwarf expansions. We ran into some trouble:

I was the Space Pirate, he can "evade any field" on the timescape field. I also got one specific spell "the way of the lotus". Now, this turned out to be a weird lethal combination. Usually its not possible to stay in timescape, thus not possible to avoid all bad effect from the others boards. The space pirate however can each round stand evade whatefter field he encounters (except vortex and sentinel). Now, with the warpbelt he has the ability to move from one field to another, and back again, if one of the fields is "Time Loop" - he does not need to stay honor the timeloop field "Move back from where you came" effect.

Now, with the "The Way of the Lotus" spell, its possible to stand in Time loop (uneffected by the other boards, and no need to move the spacepirate) and move around with the Mystic on the main boards. The mystic is basicly always safe, with the possibility to "warp back" to the Space Pirate.

The spell "The way of the Lotus" was cast in the outter region of the main board, and the space pirate was moved into the city - from where he was then warped to the TimeScape.

I am well aware of the many many overpowered combos in the game, but I am proud to (maybe) have found one myself :-)

May I suggest you to post this question on BoardGameGeek?

This forum is mantained by Fantasy Flight Games, and "Timescape" is not a product of theirs.

(This is not intended to sound 'mean', it's just that most people that comes here is not familiar with that expansion)

And those that know about Timescape mainly hate it with all their soul gran_risa.gif .
