3v3 game (GenCon)

By TheProfessor, in CoC Organized Play

I'm wondering if anyone has any info on the 3v3 tournament planned at GenCon. I know some game companies put build restrictions on the 3 decks combined, for example. Also wondering how the mechanics might work - is it like a 6 player game following the multiplayer rules except the stories accrue to the team instead of individual?

What do you guys think?

I guess we'll just find out after the event begins, huh?

My assumption would be that each player on team A would play the opposite player on team B in a match and whichever team won the most matches wins the round (best 2 of 3).

Of course this is not official and merely my assumption. Though I think I would like to see (and play in) a multiplayer tournament.

Oh... hadn't even considered that possibility! Totally different deck building strategy! happy.gif

Ya, definately different worlds.

My assumption means that you basically play your normal deck-o-choice. Hell, I'm not even sure if you would be even allowed to help your team mates.

If it were a multiplayer game... that would be an awesome setting for some fun deck building.

But with no other information about the tournament's structure... (just did a little more digging)... I assume my assumption is correct. :P

I'll probably just bring two decks in case! If it is NOT multi-player, then the team component doesn't really have much synergy, and certainly doesn't require any group planning... Shame. I am hoping that it is multi-player as I have a group of three that has been thinking of some silly ways to make multiplayer work!
