couple of wierd things about lurker expansion

By The Thing In The Attic, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

1. the pact cards are printed double sided with the game text on both sides, so how to you exhaust them as you can't flip them over like other cards?

turning them on their side is one way i suppose but thats not in keeping with the exhausting a card rule, shouldn't they of had a design on the back of the cards?

2. whats the prrof of purchase counter for? is there going to be a promotional incentive or something?

other than that the expansion looks great

1. Minor error in the printing I guess.

2. Proof of purchase will allow you to send in the proof and get fixed cards if they make them. lengua.gif

Huh... I've always turned exhausted cards sideways (like tapping). That's what happens when you play Magic for too many years I guess.

I've always turned them sideways too. That way you know they're used up, but you can remember what they are in the first place. Not to mention, it's easier than flipping them over.

Haha looks like everyone taps so FFG figured "Why bother making art for new backs". Works for me.

I think lots of people just tap because it's prety standard no mater what it's called (**** WotC for figuring out a loophole in the trademarking mechanics block). I hadn't even realized until this thread that you were supposed to flip the cards.

Well, *I* always flip them over. Normally, when cards have text on both sides it's to show they're always active. Odd.

Wow, is that really what the proof of purchase is for? I hope I'm not just being gullible.

yeah i know it's no hardship to tap a card (turn it side ways) to show it as exhausted gui%C3%B1o.gifi was curious to know if my cards had a printing error in that they had mistakenly printed both sides the same.

however for me i usually flip an exhausted card and 'tap' a card to show that i don't have to roll for its effect in the upkeep phase (ie. retainer and curse)

i do understand why the dark pact cards would be double sided; so that players can clearly see their uses before they take the card from the pile. however in answer to that and from a from a design point of view i'd have used the same design on the back of the reckoning-card on the dark pact cards substituting the key symbol for either the stamina or sanity or ally symbol as appropriate. then the lurker hearald sheet would have said place the piles face up next to the hearald sheet. simple (but a little more expensive i suspect)

still these are merely aesthetics, one can surley tap a card to tap into the power of the dark pacts.partido_risa.gif
