So we didn't have as much time to play through as we'd hoped so in the interest of showing the system and the end encounter I had the players move through fairly quickly.

By the time they got to the Broodlord they had suffered a bit of damage here and there, but after fighting three genestealers the Broodlord showed off. the first to go was the Dark Angel, who surprisingly was the least wounded, but after Rending Claws kicked in and the BL rolled some brutal damage died in one round. Next went the Blood Angel, who had pumped heavy bolter rounds into its chitinous form, and then finally the Space Wolf who had to spend the first round of the fight clearing a jammed bolter after putting down the last Genestealer. The Apothecary was an NPC for our team so he really didn't participate.

They did manage to bring it down to 23 wounds in two rounds though.

So nasty.

I ran the adventure for free rpg day but we never got to the Broodlord (ran out of time) though he does sound double hard

As a GM I like it when weapons jam at tense moments - very Space Hulk, and against Genestealers no less!

We just killed the BL recently. I play a ad hok Tech marine, we have a dev, assult, apoth, and tac. the dev stayed on the roof and cleaned shop, while the four of us went in and split off into groups of two and went down the two corridors. at the BL room we just use a melta bomb on the door and shot through the walls since they were only AP 10. we had him down below half before the assult got into melee and killed it. the dev is the only one who was dropped below half because she didnt kill the last Stealer in time and got hit twice. its all about the tactics even with big mean Marines because when facing stealers they can kill you with no prob.

Hords are easy on the other hand a dev and a few full auto shots with bolters takes care of most hords.. but they are very scary when they fire back so try and break them fast.

During Free RPG Day it came pretty close. Before defeating the Broodlord the Space Wolf was torn in half and our devastator marine dropped. The other two limped out. Though if we had a little more time there were still 3 additional genestealers closing in!
