Oblivions Edge feedback [Wanted]

By Bassemandrh, in Deathwatch

I was Wondering if anyone have any feed back on the follow-up adventure to Final Sanction

I can't seem to get at it to play, to give any feedback at this point. Keeps saying there is some kind of issue with the PDF, don't know if it's on my side or yours.

I had a similar problem, try opening it with internet explorer (assuming you aren't already). I discovered there was some obscure issue with opening while in Google Chrome browser.

Huh, that worked, thanks.

I have run the start of Oblivions edge up to the marines getting to the Tyranid Hive Ship, we are on a break at this point (people having holidays etc bah) and I must say it has been impressive.

As soon as signs of the hive fleet appeared the assault marine vowed to destroy the entire horde hive fleet, so immediatly the primary mission objectives were indicated without ado.

The start is so epic and adrenaline pumping that is was almost a shame that the players got rescued. In fact it shares many similarites with the classic battle of rorkes drift (Zulu Film with Michael Cain is one to watch to get the idea).

I sprinkled several turning points in there as well to up the tension. Having failed on 2 turning points, the team managed to take an infected noble aboard with them. However as one of the players had recently read Ciaphus Cain, he suspected something was afoot. The resultant decompression on the shuttle is a real big reason why you don't fire full auto of kraken rounds into a unarmoured foppish noble, and a valuable lesson was learnt.

There is ample opportunity for roleplay between Fleet Captain Cobb, tactician Hadros aboard ship and the Marines, and I recomend that there is a dialogue between the team and the ship, as it gives the players an insight into the kind of fleet captain the man is, as well as get an understanding of Hadros.

The team had a great discussion with Cobb Hadross and Grayson, and even stated that Cobb was indeed a brave man to flee the Hive Fleet, a decision made with courage as all had knowledge of repercussions once returned to Imperial Secured Space.

All in all it was very enjoyable. hurry the main rulebook is all I say.
