A few questions

By Hurdoc, in Warhammer Invasion Rules Questions

A few things came up in a marathon play session I had yesterday. Some of these I think are obvious but my partner was arguing:

1) Illyriel can bounce herself, right?

2) Tzeentch's Firestorm is 2 damage to 2 units = 4 total damage. Not 2 damage divided amongst 2 units, for 1 each. Correct?

3) Does a unit with toughness brought into play after We'z Bigga come in with one damage or is it absorbed? I'm assuming it does, since the damage is not assigned, per se.

4) Can I use a Plague Monks action after I use Mortella to play a spell tactic from my opponents discard pile?

Thanks!

1) Yes, but you don't have to unless you feel like wasting resources... or it's a part of some master plan

2) 2 damage to 2 units is 2 damage to one unit and 2 damage to another unit.

3) Unit takes the damage.

4) You'd still be playing a spell, so the monk action should work. I haven't seen a ruling to the contrary.

Though keep in mind that many tactics are not spells. Only cards with the Bold and Italic "Spell" characteristic on the first line of the text box.

Edit: I see you specifically noted that it was a "spell tactic" in your question, but I guess I'll just leave this here for posterity.

Hi, I have questions of my own to asked about the traits and abilities of cards in the game. Don't mind me posting here as your topic is already stated "A few questions" as I don't like flooding the threads with just one posts and that's it :/

1) Can a player play as many quest cards in a game or it's only limited for one per game.

2) What does the "Knight" trait do? or it's just a name to classify the class of a unit/ character.

2.5) Same question goes to the "Warrior" trait.

3) Valkia The Bloody's ability says "Spend 2 resources to move any number of damage this unit to a target corrupted unit." Her defense/ life is 4, can it also be applied when she sustain maximum damage or must be below 4?

4) There's a word "Quest" written on Valkia The Bloody, does that mean that she can only be summoned onto the Quest zone, or can also be placed in the battlefield / kingdom zone?

5)For the spell Blessings of Tzeentch ability: Sacrifice a unit and search the top 5 cards of your deck for any number of units and put one into play at random.

Let's just say it is round 2, and I only have 2 loyalty icons in play, i used this spell and out of 5 cards, there's only 1 unit card within it. That card is Bloodthirster, is it valid or does that mean the spell used is failed and I don't get to place any unit card into play?

Another scenario, what if the top 5 cars doesn't have any unit, do i get to do the same until there are unit cards in the pile of 5 cards that I searched?

6) For Johannes Broheim ability: At the end of each phase, you may move this unit from its current zone to one of your other zones.

The scenario is like this, he's in the battlefied zone, my starting kingdom phase, he flies to my kingdom zone, then to the quest zone and finally back to the battlefield zone, is that how his ability works?

7) If i want to use a counterstrike ability of 3, can I separate all 3 attacks which deals 1 damage to 3 different enemy units?

#1: You can have as many Quests as you want can get, but only 1x each Unique Quest.

#2: Traits currently don't do anything, they are just flavor.

#3: She still needs to be alive to use her ability, so 3 dmg or less (unless you use HP-increasers on her, then move enough damage off her to leave her at 3 or less dmg).

#4: You can play Valkia to any zone, but her ability only works when she is in the Quest zone. Check p. 16 in the rules for Kingdom/Quest/Battlefield
Only and Zone Specific Effects, and their difference.

#5: “Put into play” means that the card enters
play through a card effect instead of
through normal costs and restrictions. " (FAQ)

You only need to take into account loyalty when playing something, put into play is different. In this scenario, you played Blessing of Tzeentch and had to meet cost +loyalty for it, but its effect of putting the BT into play doesn't care about cost + loyalty.

#6: He moves at the end of each phase, so if you want to collect resource(s) with JB, you need to move him either at the end of your opponent's phases or end of your Phase 0. At the end of the Kingdom Phase, you can then move him to the Quest zone and have him P count for card draw.

#7: No, each counterstrike only goes against one unit. With CS3, you'll do 3 dmg to one attacker.
