AutoMagic Navigation

By xodusprime, in Rogue Trader

Hey guys,

Our RT group doesn't have a navigator PC, but we still need to get around. Since none of us are overly familiar with the Navigation rules I made this to do it automatically for us. You just need to put in the base number of days, base time parity (how many real world days for each day in the warp), and fill in the navigator's Warp and Awareness skills. Press Navigate and you can see what evil befalls your ship.

Requires .NET framework 2.0; stand alone executable.

Nice work, I plan to use it myself, even with PC navigators. However I do have some suggestions to make it better:

- The base time the base time experienced by those on the ship, not those outside the warp. Page 183, the first paragraph of stage one.

- Could you change it so it allows a PC Navigator to spend fate points on his rolls. The best way I can see to do this is to have a check box marked something like "PC Navigator". If it's checked then the player will be asked how they want to spend fate points before and after each roll.

- Set the default time parity to 12, since that is the average given by the "passage of time in real space" section.

- Add an optional help popup to tell people what goes in each text box.

I deem your submission acceptable and highly usefull for parties of assassins like mine...

Excellent. I approve.

Any updates to post?

Nice program

Necrobumping an incredibly useful tool!

I hate to respond to a necrobump, but this is a very useful tool.

The OP is the same person who wrote the expanded star system creation tool as well I think. Wish that had a GUI like this one does.

Then again, I really wish this was pure HTML so I could run it on my phone/iPad. :)

Necrobumping a response to a necrobump.

I am one of those players who loves to keep track of time passing in game, playing under one of those GM's who couldn't give a rat's ass about time passage and only handles it when it is important to the plot, and even then only narratively ballparks it without any reference to rules. So this little program is gonna make things a lot more fun. We don't have a navigator as we're only 2 players and a GM, so I made up a Nav and this program makes things awesome-r! Wish someone would update this little program with newer components (I know there's at least 1 new component that halves warp travel time)
