Legacy Highlander Format Question

By boben_fett, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

When playing in this format how are reprints handled? Is the newest version considered the most up to date or are they different cards?

An example would be King Robert's Hammer. The original version says "Discard from play if you do not control a Baratheon character" the new on says "If it is Summer or Winter kneel King Robert's Hammer". The rest of the card is essentially the same but how would this be handled?

Unless Errata has been issued (see the Legacy FAQ in the Support section of the A Game of Thrones mini-site), I would go with what is written on each card. I would think of it just the same way as there being different versions of Khal Drogo in the Core Set and in Wolves of the North. Some cards in LCG are much closer to old CCG cards, but I don't think that means you should treat them any differently from the other cards with the same name and less similar card text.

I would argue that the two versions are not reprints, even though the two cards have the same name and similar effects.

But as schreck says, unless there is specific errata in one of the two FAQs, treat cards as written. "New" versions do not replace "old" versions. For example, if you choose to play the Westeros version of Eddard Stark, you cannot assume your card gains a Noble Crest and Stalwart just because the nearly identical Core Set version does.
