[Rules Question] Broodwar: Defend Order

By Rwakelin, in StarCraft

Howdy,

In the Broodwar expansion the new "Defend Order" is a unique order that is never placed on the order stack, but is resolved immediatly.

And it states each player can only execute one defend order per planning phase.

Question: Does using a defend order 'count' as one of your 4 orders you put down for a turn? i.e. Can you put down 4 orders PLUS a single defend order, or is it 4 orders with no defend, or 3 orders and defend?

My reading is defend DOES count as one of your four orders, but it's not 100% clear.

Thoughts?

I think that the defence order would just count towards the order limit of 4. Else everyone would place a defence order each turn.

Yes. It absolutely counts as 1 of your 4 orders.
