M. Bison's Fierce Punch

M. Bison's Fierce Punch

5 difficulty, 2cc, +4M

4 high, 5 dmg, Punch

"While this card is in your card pool, whenever you cancel an opponent's card effect or destroy one of your opponent's cards in their staging area, you may draw a card."

With lots of new cards being talked about and tested, has this fantastic attacke sneaked under the radar?

OTOH, this card will trigger from Owlface, Charismatic, Without a Care, Shadow Blade and Gaishiki Lunar Rebellion. As a block, it could potentially sucker punch with Total Global Domination, Superiority, Instant Success and quite a few more.

While all this card draw is continuing, it's another 5 dmg, off-zone, dps attack on it's symbol lines.

Just thought i would throw this one out there. Are 2cc's still too important a consideration to save this from being outprioritised by other cards? Or will this find a home in a aggro-control lineup? Or is the card rubbish?

The attack is actually mid, but I agree it has some potential. In block 2, via evil, can be given +8 speed with Unrequited Love and damage via the usual damage pumps. The ability is nice in control decks with a destruction and negation theme. However, the 2CC might make people hesitate to include it, as it is a bit situational. At least it is a common that can see play.

When I saw this card, I just grinned. It's delightful. "Whenever you screw with your opponent's game [other than commit], draw a card! Because you're worth it :) " and 2cc balances it.

The thing that really gives me pause is that you need it to be in your card pool -- so if your opponent throws a Moonbeam or something and you really need to negate the Powerful, you don't get your cards. Still, it's really cool, and turning Mentoring into "F Commit: Do cool stuff AND draw 1 card" is just great. "Add a Pieces of 8 to your staging area. Destroy the same Pieces of 8. Ooooh draw a card."

I rather like it, but the turnoff is the 2-check. Not because I'm afraid of 2's (c'mon, I play 7 of them in Victor), but because it's not good enough for one of my 2-check spots (if that makes sense). It has to fight off Yoga Adept, Turnabout, Darkness Blade (a 1), Shadow Blade, Ryu's Shin Shoryuken (Love Tap), and, most importantly, iSpin (never leave home without it!). Given that it requires negation or destruction, and I'm a "commit" player, it's nice, but not something I can take full advantage of.

If I were to shift over to, say, Basara, though, it'd be an entirely different story - he matches two symbols with all of Bison's cards, and a few of his have negation as well. Card draw on Death/Evil would be VERY nice!

You forgot to mention Begin Anew, Chesters backing, Kung fu training, Oral Dead, seal of cessation and some of his versions using yoga adept. Bison can force attacks through pretty easy, this one dosent even need to hit to be effective. It can be a great deterent from your opponent basicly doing anything.

Promo Bison + board control cards + this attack into a kill attack = pretty **** effective.

It won't work with Yoga Adept (he's not an All character), but otherwise, quite so.

yoga adept is evil. m. bison is evil.

He's referring to the All ability on the card that negates and discards an action from the card pool. But at least you can still use the first part, which is a killer.

Well, you can still use the attack and yoga adept in any character with All and Evil, Death or Order. No M.Bison though.

ahh. i missed that.

*nods*

He can play it and discard stuff from the card pool, but Fierce Punch requires something to be negated or destroyed to activate the card draw.

Chester's Backing seems like the easiest way to abuse this, since it's easily used on either turn (Olcadan's being a great way to abuse this, and Seal, too). Most people play their Form abilities toward the beginning of the turn, so I'm not sure how useful Oral Dead will be. Red Lotus, though...lots of Stun abilities and things like that...can you imagine how gross it would be in Kyo when he's got, like, 3 momentum to back up Red Lotus?
