Does this game have dice for combat?
Does it actually have combat?
Or is it just a maze game where you try to grab stuff and then escape?

The GW version used a card based combat system, basically it was paper/scissors/stone.
Some of the more unusual creatures such as snotlings and giant spiders used a different dice system. Im sure FFG will just use one type of combat though.
The latest preview showed a character card that mentioned using 2 dice. Sadly, the character card was just as ugly as the first character they revealed. lol

I have to disagree with you there, unless you mean "ugly" in a positive sense. It's a priest with a burned face who's trying to redeem himself. What's not to like! He's definitely more interesting and interesting-looking than any of the characters in the original DQ.
