1. Gold coins. Are they objects? Are they threatened by Whirlwind, Gust of Wind, Acquisition, Shatter, Tinker Imp and many others?
2. If there is a gold coin on a space, is it counted as a card or not?

Hello,
1. No, Gold is treated like a "score" in most cases. Cards need to specifically target Gold to have effect (Fool's Gold & Raiders are some examples). Cards that target Objects do not affect Gold. If I remember correctly, the Acquisition Spell allows you to take one Gold if you wish to, but others don't mention Gold.
2. Gold coins on a space are treated like Bags of Gold for encounters (they have an encounter no. of 5), but they do not count as cards towards the draw card spaces.
