Advice to FFG

First, let me start by saying that I love the LCG format, it has finally made it possible for me to get back in to card games without the huge expense associated with CCGs. In addition, the recent decision by FFG to include 3 copies of each card in the battle packs has shown to me that FFG is more than just looking out for their best interest and sales. Kudos. If I could make one more suggestion it would be this: Include six copies of the neutral cards that are not affiliated with destruction or order. The only other person I play with doesn't own any cards, and we play out of my collection. If I was able to have two play sets of each neutral card, it would allow for our games to be more balanced. Anyone else agree? Disagree? I definately don't mind the few extra dollars on the battle packs added recently for the added bonus of not having to buy duplicate packs. I would think an increase of two play sets of the neutral cards would only increase the costs of the packs by maybe .25 or .50. Thoughts?

Rethink that amount of price increase. That's an awkward 3-12 cards extra (depending on the pack)... they'd average it out, surely, to 6 or something, which requires thought on appropriate types of cards to thematically balance each pack correctly... Consider how much thicker those 6 cards are.

Consider that each LCG has the same amount (right?) of cards in them... will they then increase the card count in AGoT and CoC? If they leave it the same, now they have different box sizes to produce, increasing the cost of production (easier to make a ton of same sized boxes, vs. some of one kind, some of another...). Also consider the shipping difference 6 cards makes. Sure, in one pack its negligible.... but its possible now that they'll kick the shipping of cases of these up a solid amount, or that they used to be shipped with the other products, which fit nicely on a stack, but now would no longer.

Also consider the marketing aspects. Yes, it is a good idea for you. You will pay the 25-75 cents extra (or whatever perhaps), but will other players continue? They may be increasingly disinterested in the additional cards they haven't a use for, because they're casual players and only ever just have one of each product anyhow, so why would extras be of interest to them? Or maybe these are the same people that already buy a second (or third) pack for multiple decks, but now are drowning in 12 - 18 copies of the neutrals... Maybe they'll just shift back down to one pack more often than not.

I'm sure there are some other 'pros'. Perhaps making the packs more easily adaptable to a draft format. However, I'm sure some thought of marketing and min/max analysis has been done with these products, and this is probably the easiest most desired format...

The occasional reprint of some neutrals is of interest to me, and appears to be happening with the occasional larger expansions like the Elf expansion recently released...
