" I am the LAW"

By Kapelan, in Dark Heresy House Rules

Hey I am workin on makein non combat classes a bit more .....ehm fun. To give you a few ideas . My adepts given the information can call for a int check and " look for extra bits of information" --- if i give the data slate to a party without adept they only can ask me direct questions ( NOT yes or no but the answers will be short) what stored there? So they will do a lot of talkin directly at me before they dig up some "good bits" if they have an adept I will tell him " what is THAT and what is IT"( based on his check). I am lookin for this sorts of ideas ..... to jucie up all the classes. What can I do to Arbitor to make him more then just ...." I hit ppl and they tell me stuff" guy. ?

I already done cleric with his chants ( they provide some **** good buffs like fearless talant / +10 on your next close combat roll this sort of stuff Cleric may choose to sing this prayers / Tech - Priest with ability to make all sorts of gadgets ( like servo skull wich reloads partys guns ( way to imbalanced so far but hell nobody is complaining ! =) ). / Scum who can ( and does) get some extra cash from "side jobs" ( 1on 1 rp via scype ) .

My imeprial guard player gets anoyed that he doesn't get anythin fun so if you feel like you can share any ideas please do .

You know those alternet skill uses from the non-core books? Make fore of those up, most of the non-combat classes in dark heresy have access to a wide range of skills. so allowing the chiruigeon in the party to test medicae instead of strength in a grapple (representing use of pressure points) There are a lot of skills that can be used this way, so jsut make cool things up.

A guardsman could use his infulunce with the guard to requisition supplies ammo or extra support.

I would recommend looking into the IHB and RHB for more, they do a *lot* of expanded skills and talents. I'd be careful with some of the stuff though, Cleric chants giving AoE benefits become something that they start to do at the end game, while it sounds like its something they are starting to have access to early on. However if its late game, thats an entirely different thing.

I am kind of stuck trying to consider whats overly non-combat-y, adepts maybe are the most likely to fall into that at earlier levels, but they are given access to basically all lores and talents. Most non-combaty guys can add their own flair to combat by just giving them an automatic weapon and overwatch or suppression, though largely I would think it would be required to be addressed on more GM end - non-combat focused people are generally going to need more non-combat focused campaigns. However, definitely interesting idea.
