Special abilities and objects

By Cynewulf2, in Talisman Rules Questions

I am using a character with a "followerizer" ability (Ogre Chieftain, Minstrel, ecc) and I land on a 2 card space, I draw a "followerizable" enemy and an object.

If I use my ability successfully on the enemy, can I take the treasure?

My answer would be "yes" because even if I didn't evade / defeat the enemy, there is no enemy anymore on the board, but I'd like to have a confirmation.

If you use it succesfully, you may encounter the cards with higher numbers; if you fail, your turn usually ends. The FAQ also clarifies an important thing about other abilities, such as "XXXX will never attack you, but you can choose to attack them". This is not like Evading. If you don't attack and defeat such Enemies, you're not allowed to encounter other cards on the space (turn ends), except other Enemies. An undefeated/unevaded Enemy on a space means "no spoils to take".

I thought that If I lose a fight my turn immediately ends. Even If there are other enemies with higher encounter number. Am I wrong?

I think you are right. Your turn ends.

My question could be made more general with this wording:

"If I manage to REMOVE enemies from a space with different means than combat, can I take Objects?"

Sorry, my answer was confusing. What I intended to say is that if you decide not to attack an Enemy because of a Special ability, you may attack other Enemies on the space but you don't get any Objects or Followers.

Let's say you're the Minstrel. If you draw a Bronze Dragon, a Goblin Sniper and the Gauntlet of Might in a Dungeon space (Vault), you may decide not to attack the Bronze Dragon because of your ability, you have to fight the Goblin Sniper but if you win the Dragon is still there and you don't get the Gauntlet.

If you're not convinced, look at page 8 of the Rulebook:

Objects, Magic Objects, and Followers
These may be taken to the character’s play area, if permissible,
and all Enemies on the space have been killed or evaded

Dragon has neither been killed nor evaded, but it's still there. You can encounter Places and Strangers, but not take number 5 cards.

The answer to Cynewulf question was "yes" anyway, because he assumed to succesfully use the "followerinsing" ability.

Of course if you lose a fight your turn ends immediately.
