Chapter Pack Contents

By AMBusam, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

Hello,

I've just recieved the core set (early Christmas present), and am anxious to give it a run. I'm wondering about other content, though. I see in the catalog that the chapter packs contain 40 cards, 20 distinct.

Does this mean that there are 3 copies of 10 and 1 copy of another 10? Some other configuration?

Is there a list somewhere of the quantities of each card each chapter pack contains? I've seen Tzumainns site for what the cards are, but I can't tell if quantity information is available there.

Thanks in advance

That is indeed the breakdown.

IIf you go to tzumainn's site and look at the lists for the first 6 Chapter Packs (the "Clash of Arms" cycle), for each pack, the first 10 are single copy and the second 10 are 3 copies. The "Time of Ravens" packs do not have this predictability, though. You pretty much need someone to open the pack and post it somewhere to get the copy numbers.

Yes, there are 3 copies of 10 and 1 copy of another 10.

To help you with that, see the links below. They will show what cards are 3x copies, and what is x1 in the first 5 CP's. You can change resoution of those pictures and make them bigger.

Thanks for the confirmation. If anyone finds a resource for that info for 'Ravens' by all means let me know. If I find one I'll post it here as well.

Thanks again.

Cards with one copy in the change of seasons chapter packs:

F41 The long winter

F44 The long summer

F45 Demon´s dance

F46 Shadow stalker

F48 Theon Greyjoy

F49 Maester Aemon

F51 Walder Frey

F58 Den of the wolf

F59 A time for ravens

F60 Unconventional warfare

Thank you Ben! I really was looking hard for this piece of information.

Sorry, new here. Does this mean that every pack is the same? How many cards are in each set?

Every chapter pack contains 40 cards. There are ten cards with one copy and 10 cards with 3 copies in each pack. So in total every chapter pack brings a long 20 new cards. And yes, every chapter pack is the same.

That is the best cardgame model I've ever seen. Granted there are still an ever-loving ton of CPs to purchase, but still, that's great.

I think I'll be joining your ranks quite soon.

10 is a ton?

I guess i'm still too used to buying120 packs and not having a play set....

Granted, this is true, but they are coming out with one a month, I hear, so it'll stack up, but you're right. I guess it still seems a lot to me because I got out of CCGs several years ago and have since mostly stuck to games that I buy one of, once happy.gif

This looks like it'll work for me, though, and I do so love this world.

Right the new concept is definetely a better start into a card game than any CCG could offer. If you buy a Core Set ($ 40) and all of the 10 released chapter packs (around $9 each, so $90 total) you´ll receive a complete LCG play set for $130, probably add $ 50 to buy some extra chapter packs for some additional cards you might want and it´s still very cheap if you compare it to the usual CCG- around $ 200 to receive a complete play set for a small expansion.

To add on to old ben's post. The maintence fee's are very low ($10-$30) on a monthly basis. In a CCG you could easily spend that $200 for a playset (a low estimation IMHO) 3 times a year (so 200 of intial purchase and then at least $30 a motnh after that (but in two lump sums)).

And, of course, if you are able to find out the contents of a package before hand from people posting online (deathjester is right; FFG never said they would spoil the contents every month before release - this isn't something FFG is overlooking), you won't necessarily want or need to shell out ANYTHING in a given month.

These might be helpful. Some folks have put up pictures on BGG that show each chapter pack's contents including the quantity of each card (you can select a larger image size at the top of the page to make it easier to read).
