Hi everybody,
we played against Rhan Tegoth again (today) and a silly question started buzzing in my mind. Rita had an OW encounter allowing her to draw and keep a monster from the cup. She drew a Lloigor, so everybody was happy and we had no problems at all with this encounter. But what if she had drawed a cultist? Rhan Tegoth's power says that every cultist drawn is placed on the AO sheet and [...], but does this refer even to dead cultists? I mean, if - through the same encounter - I draw a warlock, I cannot cash its trophy for the clue tokens, right? So why should Rhan eat a dead cultist?
Another reflection about the cultists
I would say it still goes to Rhan-Tegoth. Simply because it says "any cultist that is drawn from the monster cup is placed on this sheet.". The "any" makes it seem to not matter what reason they were drawn for. If it is a cultist that came from the cup, then it goes to him. That's how I see it.
Another Freudian slip?

Yep, it's the same way I see it (sadly). Just wanted to check whether it was possible to avoid coming disasters (that AO is nightmarish oo)

I agree he is nightmarish. Almost had a seal win, but a cultist came out and woke him up. Then we would have probably beat him if it wasn't for the Epic Battle cards. One player was Lily Chen, so she just kept moving her sliders to restore stamina and was the one mostly doing the stamina check on the AO's attack. But with R-T's blood draining power, and the story card that has you draw ten monsters and heal a doom token for each cultist, it just drew the battle out too long and we eventually got the red Epic Battle card that ends the fight immediately. Without those cards, I think we could have slowly taken him out.

Sounds like a real epic battle! Sometimes losing is such a sweet sorrow
With enough expansions in the mix combined with horrible luck (anybody care to calculate the odds?), you could wake R-T with William Yorick drawing Cultists for his Fixed Possessions (of 3 monster trophies).

I didn't want to quote it, but I see you fixed it.

Fortunately, you should have some *very* bad luck for this to happen
I think the proto-FAQ says that Rhan gets the Cultist. But that's what I would have assumed anyway: Rhan says he gets any Cultist that is drawn from the cup.
